  2. https://marching.musicforall.org/waco-regional/ with the set lineup out, any early predictions?
  3. Im down for this: 6A. Flower Mound 5A. Cedar Park 4A. Celina 3A. Redwater 2A. Ganado 1A. Irion County
  4. I’m not a band director either- I saw it shared from a friend of a friend
  5. I’m not opposed to this, so why not. 6A: Hebron 5A: Rouse 4A: Celina 3A: Mineola 2A: Rivercrest 1A: Iroin County Of course, I don’t think any of these things will matter since no band has any show started, but here’s what I’m thinking trend wise.
  6. Wow, very interesting to see what changes that new director could make to HP, I wonder what could happen in this competition, this could definitely spice up the competition and also spice up area c as well
  7. Just throwing this out there, we should get things started by having a preseason poll where each person can predict who their 6A/5A/4A/3A/2A/1A Champs will be and then we can come back and visit it later this year.
  8. i totally agree with gatesville here, as the growth has been AMAZING since even a couple years ago i see numerous people saying how gatesville will come 6-10th at area but i know they can do WAY better than that. who knows, maybe even coming top 3 at finals!
  9. Just thought I'd post this incase it sways anyone's rankings or opinions. Go Gatesville!
  10. I thought Mount Pleasant did a Beetlejuice show few years ago?
  11. It'd be just like a 5A version of the Area J
  12. really excited for MP’s show this year!
  13. I want to see cinco perform at state so bad I know they're killing it there
  14. Predictions, they are wrong: 1. Bridgeland 2. Seven Lakes 3. Cy-Woods 4. Cy-Fair 5. Cinca Ranch 6. Jordan 7. Tompkins 8. Cy-Ranch 9. JET 10. Langham/Katy yes this is innaccurste, but I’m DYING to see Cinco Ranch in state, Cy-Ranch higher in Finals and langham in finals.
  15. Does anyone know when the draw order will be released?
  16. Last week
  17. Not many people know this, but a new high school in Lamar CISD Gene Thomas HS is set to open in Fall 2025, and it will be part of this area! The new band director is coming from Fulshear, and I can’t wait to see how they do!
  18. Wow - coming back and bumping this thread that I started... *gulp* 10 years ago.... After trying a few different things, and I won't throw shade at any of them, I'll say we have been very happy with Fund-Team.com. It's a direct donation via email/text model and they only take 5% for processing fees. We've had very successful campaigns the past going on seven years now I believe with them.
  19. Summer Band has started! Let the countdown to Bandtober begin!
  20. Think about Rouse, Cedar Park, Leander and Vista all in the same area.
  21. The Texas Band Director Page is private and I am not a band director. I'm not too knowledgeable about the requirements of what makeups the qualifications for the Honor Band Process. If what you are saying is true then I could see numerous small schools getting snubbed because many of the GT Academies and schools like that have the money to make their program flourish.
  22. Color me curious. Indulge us in the long story?
  23. If you go to the Texas Band Director FB page you can see the drama with Barbers Hill - I will also say that is not the ONLY issue with the honor band process.. for example the 1C winner and 2nd place do not FEED small schools - yes they might be 1C by the numbers but they feed 5a and 6A programs as "magnet" type schools - I know one of them for sure is a GT academy - I find it a little unfair to true small 1C programs - BUT that is not the kids fault and I am sure they worked hard! My opinion on this has nothing to do with those programs - they are well deserved of the honor - I just personally think there are some thing that need to change to even the playing field for the true 1C programs who feed small schools - otherwise what is the point of the classification system to begin with.
  24. It’s a looooooooooong story.
