Bell just had some cleaning issues musically last year which kinda shocked me considering how good they were in 2023. Last year wasn’t bad by any means but just not as polished come area, but I’m excited to see if they bounce back or not. It’s funny how they’ve been doing recently, it’s like one season they make state and then they don’t, just need to find a way to be consistent

Same! only things i practice at home is solo's and region etudes...

I told my bassoon teacher that I like synth more than bassoon and she "your opinion is wrong and you're gonna start practicing bassoon." TBH concert band is extremely easy to me and I can play any of the music just from fingering music on the side in band class so I never practice at home since it's to easy LOL

NGL if you're on this website it means Marching band>concert band all day.

I’m really hoping for a bounce back from L.D Bell because I was not expecting them to finish 6th last year. It’s one of those things where it’s just extremely hard to advance in a really good area. I’m also hoping SLC can get back into the SMBC because they where a dark horse for me last year.

Thank you so much! This is my daughter's second year doing indoor. Every time I saw yalls show, I thought about the kids moving the boat and how strong their legs must be! I didn't think it moved! It was awesome! You are 100% correct about how inspiring these kids are! It was a rough start this year after "The Event", but they didn't let that stop them, and showed how resilient and determined they are. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for next year!

Hopefully your prediction for KC advancing is correct. However they will have a new director. He/she is unmamed at this time. Supposedly someone has been hired. McNulty headed over to Melissa ISD at the end of March.

Looks like no one else started this topic, so I guess I will. Anyways this is gonna be a fun area like always. Here's my early season predictions: 1. Coppell - Safe to say they are a lock, coming off of their 4th consecutive Area Championship. 2-3. Keller/Timber Creek - They always seem to go neck and neck during early season contests. TC seems to beat Keller at a lot of early season contests (HEB, BOA Bedford/Prosper) but Keller always figures it out by area. Interchangable but locks IMO. 4-7. SLC, KC, LD Bell, Lake Ridge - The last spot will come down to these 4 bands. SLC can 2-peat a SMBC appearance, KC can advance for the first time in 6A after barely missing state this year, Bell had a rough season. Can they bounce back? And then Lake Ridge, for the first time in a while, is in the state Convo. Very fun show last year and can't wait to see them build on to last year's success. Finalist Bubble - Halttom, Trinity, Boswell, Martin, Mansfield

I wanted to comment something along the same lines. It hasn’t been very long at all when there was a time where Texas wasn’t all that good at guard. I’m so happy to see how hugely this has changed and how quickly! Texas is FINALLY making themselves known in the Scholastic guard classes. Now it’s time to see the same thing happen in Independent! Hopefully it’s just a matter of time. (I miss those two incredible pre-Covid groups from Denton and Dallas soooooo much). I also love the idea of UIL adding a guard judge at state. Let’s get these hard working kids some recognition dadgummit! 🤪
