I think 6A is more up in the air this year. I would love to see a new winner in Vandegrift or hopefully see Vista Ridge return to the top! I'm also rooting for Coppell to do well1 point -

This really is Austin 2.0 now that we’ve got Vista Ridge and Round Rock. All we’re missing is Westlake. What a competition. It’s an event nobody can miss, especially now that it’s streamed.1 point -
All 2022 Area Contest Results (2A, 4A, 6A)

yeah no. 6a area b will most likely not let this happen LMAO 1. entire staff change [directors can actually determine how the season goes. good directors = good teaching + good progress] 2. literally everyone in area b is cracked/competitive [you literally have strong programs trying to kill each other for an appearance at state] 3. they may be in the bottom half of finals take this with a huge grain of salt since i haven't heard much about what else is going on over there (especially with their show and the current state of their band) also my too-early predictions for area b: coppell, keller, wax, slc, bell/timber creek/dville, [i have not heard much about the other programs in this area] but i'll go ahead and give really poor predictions from here: lake ridge, kcent, possibly martin, haltom, and hp? [can't tell too much with how these judges actually judge prelims and how these other programs are doing atm]1 point -
This reminds me that it's the time of the season for videos popping up on YouTube! Football games should be starting soon.1 point

okie dokie, heard from my source (ha), if this is wrong blame her, hahahaha. twhs' is supposedly a spy show. not sure what the words mad, mod, and go have to do with that, but there you go. supposedly they're doing one of the pieces Blue Devils are doing this year. take a wild guess which one. interesting their arranger would do the same music as the drum corps he works with. or maybe not. guard supposedly looked like they were looking through binoculars at one point. kinda hokey and been done lots before, but could be fun and fits with their newer style.1 point -

I believe that Rock Hill will surprise many groups this year. Don't know about a state berth but they will continue to turn heads.1 point -

You should!! I recommend staying somewhere you can walk over to the dome… it’s easier than dealing with driving and parking and hiking around from the parking lot. Lots of good food along the river walk- but honestly you most of the time want to be inside watching as much as you can. Just plan on fueling up with a good breakfast and live off of stadium food. If Leandermom comes down she usually manages to smuggle some cookies or brownies into the txbands guys in the press box so find her and get a treat. Lol.1 point -

82 bands, that's crazy. especially w/o a semifinals. stressful, stressful, stressful judging experience. i could see Hebron taking home their second Armadillo in a row. CTJ and Flower Mound are also in a good position with all the director changes to take their 3rd or 4th Armies. yes, i'm trying to get us to crowdfund a ridiculous armadillo trophy that gets passed around like the Grand Nats Eagle. ppl keep comparing this contest to Nats. well where the heck is our trophy then? c'mon TXBands!1 point -
New Proposals

School districts state wide could be allocated more funds for travel if that’s what they want smaller schools to do every year😉 I really don’t see why some people think funding for music is a problem of “the few” when there’s lots of stress that goes with even the biggest bands in the state and their fundraising efforts. No matter how small or big your ensemble is, the costs of travel, lodging etc. are still abundant and expensive, and making that a yearly expense when many groups wish to stay in their local area and keep their costs lowered with just shooting for a 1 at region and that typically being the end of their season, an area contest is also added on to that every year now, which for some groups in more widespread areas and regions also require extensive traveling as well. Not every area is DFW, Austin, SA, and Houston.1 point -

peshbandkid reacted to vbassoon for a topic
ideally school districts should be able to fund these trips just as much as they'd fund any other athletics, though that's seldom the case here in Texas. Either way, there are other ways around the problem, booster fundraisers, gofundme's; I know people are willing to help these programs. Plus, if they prove to be successful I'm sure it'll be worth it.1 point -
