Watch it. I happen to agree with your synopsis, but please realize not all band moms are clueless. I was in band in jr. high, high school, college, and taught music lessons for 10 years before I focused more on my kids than work. I still play piano, guitar, sax, and flute, although I only teach piano from time-to-time now. I had two kids go through Haltom over the years and volunteered every second I could, working my butt off giving HOURS AND HOURS to the program. I'm glad you're educated in music. It's nice to see young men or women continue on in their studies, but show a little respect. Be mad. Whatever. But respect, please. Thanks. -

This is one of those areas that could take 10 or even 12 to State and they'd compete very well. (This is not to diss other areas, just to point out how deep this area is). It's heartbreaking to see bands who are SO talented not get to go. If only more could advance. I think the hardest thing to deal with is had one more band made a "1" Timber Creek would've gone, too. Ugh Breaks my heart for the kids. -

Honestly? This area is so packed, the points don't matter to me. It was an open field and we could lament the judges scoring until we're blue in the face and it'll change nothing. Let the disappointed bands feel disappointed. It's 100% understandable. In the end, they will know they did their best and that's all anyone can expect. Let the ones who are advancing enjoy their success, maybe...perhaps?? without harshly questioning their placement??? Please?? Criticizing the judges is just a way of saying "so-and-so didn't deserve their advancement." It's unnecessary. Let's be kind. ❤️ -

HUGE congratulations to the finalists in the most difficult area in the State! Special congrats to those advancing to State. Battle well-fought! As a side note, if y'all don't mind... I'm SO proud of you, Haltom!!! You did a fantastic job!! Love y'all!!!!! -

Same! Love seeing bands make it that weren't predicted at all OR often. Am really sad for Haltom's BISD buds, Richland, though. -

It does my heart good, seeing how the BISD bands support each other. The wave between the two bands last night was awesome! Richland sounded fantastic and (from the back even) looked great! I'm very excited for y'all and Haltom today. Wishing y'all the best! -

Haltom and Richland both looked good tonight at the game. Glad they both got another performance in at the BISD stadium before tomorrow's contest there. Looks like Haltom will have an extended season, as their football team clinched a playoff spot tonight, beating Richland 52-13. Haltom is 8-0 for the first time since the 80s. I always loved it when we made playoffs and got to do a different show every week (after contest season is done, ofc) -

I don't drink coffee, either! I'm one of those weird "I actually really like water" people. If I have anything, it's tea. Starbucks does have yummy tea, but I don't go there often. -

Might I recommend that if you like strawberries and chocolate, you grab Andy's "snowmonster." It's amazing! -

This! And truth be told, my favorite crinkle fries are at Braum's. Uhm But Cane's secret is in the sauce! -

Ok. I must speak. Not one person has mentioned Cane's! Their special sauce, those crinkle fries, and that Texas toast that's actually Texas-sized?! They may be the underdog, but I see great potential for them. They may not be in Chick-fil-A's caliber, but give them a chance! -

So cool. This is my last post. I wish you all the best! Good luck to your bands! I hope that every one of them is able to put their very best performance on the field and exit at the end of 8 minutes, swelling with pride. That is literally all that matters to me. ✌️ -

❤️❤️❤️ to all I've encountered today on here. This fandom is truly amazing. Built by students (the most important group, imo), parents, and alumni. The passion for this sport...yes, it is a sport and the hardest one, too!...is palpable. This season has been THE most challenging one I've ever seen. Much love to all those who've had contests or finals cancelled, rehearsals cancelled or moved inside, change, change, and rearrange. You are all champions in my book! While my passion is evident, I never meant for hurt feelings or anger to arise. I was curious and tired and replied. Clearly, I should've kept my thoughts to myself, like I usually do on here. But, in the end, all that really matters to me are the kids and that THEY have the time of their lives doing something unique in this football- saturated Texas of ours...You go and do, band geniuses! We're all watching and cheering you on!! ❤️ -

There's hype for other bands in the same situation or near to it, though. It's happened for years on here. I don't see why it suddenly matters now. lol People get excited. It's part of the season. Let people put whatever school they want first. None of us are judges. It's all in good fun until someone grumbles. -

Again, *sigh* why just Haltom? No one has answered that, yet. LOL There's loads of hype. Anyway, we could go round and round and I'm done. I am thoroughly excited about ALL the bands in every competition and am wishing those talented kids the VERY best!!! May the weather be ever in your favor from now til the end of the season!! (Rain is the real enemy here, amiright?
