  1. Bowie's director the last two years was really intended to be more of an interim than anything.
  2. That they are: http://realignment.uiltexas.org/alignments/2018/5AD2FB.pdf
  3. Pioneer is 3A now, I believe. However, Weiss should now be 2A.
  4. To be clear, I’m thinking Cedar Park or maybe Round Rock for this. Cedar Park just had a major director change, but I think everything is in place for that program to succeed.
  5. I’m thinking a band will win their first ever regional championship at this competition.
  6. I don’t think LISD has much battling to do in their area, to be fair. You can spend that energy on B, D and maybe E or F
  7. Don’t worry. Your program’s directing staff is fully intact.
  8. Expect quite a few Director shake-ups in Area D and H after UIL that may even shift some of your thoughts.
  9. Groups also get bumped up if they make finals three times in a row, so Eastlake will be moving up! Along with Marvin Ridge from NC.
  10. I have no clue what you all are insinuating. I'm just a fan of that strapping young chap in the video!
  11. Leander is easily in finals at this point. I would bet Keller joins them. Westwood and Westlake could possibly climb in too.
  12. One interesting twist is that recently, a GN finalist band in Texas played a show that was way, way too similar musically to a show performed a few years prior by a kind of mid-range California band. The source music was an hour long, but both bands' 8 minute shows were eerily similar in composition. The design take, overall, was quite different.
  13. Cedar Park has only been below 9th twice in the past ten seasons. There's a director change afoot, but I don't see that changing much - especially in the first year.
  14. Some results from prelims today with implications for Dayton. Pebble Hills popped a nice score. I doubt it’ll get them moved up to Open, but if they continue in Class A, they’ll certainly lock for finals and perhaps into the top 10. I think for comparison, Leander would land somewhere between them and Coppell (but will need to see a video to confirm). Additionally in Class A, Keller and Westwood have good opening scores in WGI that should put them in the mix for Semis in Dayton. It’ll be easier to determine their finals chances later next month. Klein Oak seems to want to win in two classes in two years! That’s an incredible score at this point, especially just entering their new class. And it looks as if Tompkins will chase them all the way to Dayton. Tompkins actually already beat their Power Regional score from last year. I think it shows that both units are going to pace each other well all season, and likely into Open Class finals.
  15. Yeah, if any band hasn’t signed up yet, it’s a wrap most likely.
  16. It'll be hard to do that with only 10 hours of marching fundamental time before August 1st.
