I'm terrible at my music.
Bass Clarinets are not meant to go above the staff. It's plain unnatural. My auditions are in...2 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES! Gah. I must go attempt to practice.
The '79 Grand Nat. Winner.... Wow. It's so weird how much Marching has evoled in just 20+ years. Also, three quads and eight snares? Dude, that's crazy.
High Step Marching is definatly pimptastic. Haha. It looks so much cooler, since you can really see it. It's so much more pronounced than our "toes up" style.
Trumpet solo is amazing! It's so well played and...jazzy.
Glad you found these awesome videos!
I prefer Concert Season to Marching Season. Don't get me wrong, I love Marching, but somehow I just like the...feel of concert season better. I'm not looking forward to All-State auditions, however. My music is extremely difficult on Bass Clarinet. I'm still trying to figure out why they gave us CLARINET MUSIC!
I must say, after playing 'An American Elegy' last year in MIddle School Wind Ensemble, it still gets to me every time I hear it. 'October' is a brilliant piece, I'll admit, yet there's just something more to American Elegy.
