Cedar Park is the only one that I'm 100% confident is a lock for finals. Although, I think Leander will have enough umph to make it in. The Indiana bands have been really stepping it up. Bridgeland is clean, but, idk if that'll be enough to put them in. Their show isn't as demanding as the other bubble bands. Prosper is big and loud, but, give me a Brownsburg over that.

This will change next week after I watch the performances, but my tentative placements: 1 - 5: Avon Carmel Tarpon Springs Broken Arrow William Mason - gap - 6 - 10: Dobyns-Bennett Cedar Park Castle Brownsburg O'Fallon Township Fighting for the last 2 spots: Homestead Fishers Leander American Fork Bridgeland Carroll Prosper Stoneman Douglas Rosemount *These are personal opinions - please don't come for me

Opinions are fine, but, there's no need for back-handed compliments like those. -
https://www.valleycentral.com/news/local-news/uil-closes-case-for-sharyland-marching-band-allegations/ Case has now been closed "The UIL Area G Executive Committee issued penalties deemed appropriate under UIL guidelines. Gotcha! Hadn’t been keeping up with the 4As in a few years. I remember Wills Point having a streak of Finals appearances. -

Just realized that Wills Point, Burnet, nor Fredericksburg made finals tonight. When’s the last time Wills Point missed State Finals? -

So glad to see Grulla make State Finals for the first time since 2014 when they came short from a Bronze medal. Also congrats to Calallen for advancing and representing South Texas. Great job everyone. -

What happened to Kennedale? I remember them being good a few years ago. It’s a very strange SMC for me not seeing Atlanta or Princeton on the list. I miss them being in 4A. I hope Princeton finds success in 5A! No Rio Hondo or Port Isabel is also weird. -

Dang Roma comes out in 13th overall, just barely missing finals. They also got 13th at BOA Waco, just missing finals. I'm sure they gave it their all this season after receiving a Division II in 2019 due to a penalty for exceeding the eight minute allotted performance time, thus unable to participate in the Area/State contest for the 10th consecutive year. In 2017 they got 11th, just barely missing finals. But on a more positive note! Congrats to every single band! This 5A contest was truly amazing. So many great programs! -

Oh man, no Port Isabel or Rio Hondo. Things sure do look different here from years past. Lots of new names.
