This is so hard. So many good bands, and we thought 2017 was tough to make it in. SA keeps getting stiffer every single year. This Super Regional needs a Semifinals. Where is the petition? That was beautiful Roma. That would’ve done wonderfully at State 5A. I feel so sorry for what happened to them. Those kids didn’t deserve that. This was their year. I hope they place well here.

I was able to record The Woodlands today. They were fantastic! I loved every piece of their show. If anyone wants a link to their video, send me a PM! I had Marcus on my channel from this past weekend’s Regional but I had make it private because the Marcus band reached out to me about copyrights. Flower Mound and Hebron are on unlisted.

I’ll be going to Woodforest Bank Stadium to watch The Woodlands tomorrow at the Region Contest. Looking forward to seeing how much they’ve improved since the Lone Star Preview!

I figured that’s why they didn’t perform their last movement, to avoid the penalty. I hope whoever goes to Grand Nats records all the Texas bands! TWHSParent, maybe?

I went to the UIL Region 2 contest today and was able to see Hebron, Flower Mound, and Marcus. They were great! Not sure if Hebron performed their full show, they still had a minute and a half left on the clock. They ended their show with the movement where they play A Million Dreams. It just seems so short and like an unfinished product. Anyone have any insight? I was also able to record all of them. I would upload them to YT but I’m sure they’ll get taken down the minute it goes up. Edit: typo

So, hypothetically speaking of course, if all 14 finalists from SA Super Regional had been here tonight, how do you all think finals would’ve looked tonight? Also, very interesting how Round Rock made finals here at Grand Nats but not at SA. The Woodlands placed higher at GN than at SA (they were much cleaner, yeah, but the bands above them at SA could’ve also been much more cleaner given a week.) *Posted this on MFA but figured it would be a spring board for conversation, especially in a Texas music centric board.*
