  2. its a hard choice...but i'll go with Maynard Ferguson and Allen Vizzutti
  3. After dominating Div 2 for a while it was no surprise to see them competing in finals. There's no doubt that they're gonna become a big competitor
  4. I personally liked the old voxman book better coz the etudes favored musicality over technique. Its still better to be doing etudes out of the arban book than that bousquet crap they pulled in 05 - just my opinion though
  5. Awesome to see Coats on top...but i hope they don't peak this early in the season as they almost always do. Does anyone think their new uniforms looks alot like the Old BlueDevils?
  6. The F# Gb is my most favorite note on euphonium. I personally overcame double buzzing through building lip endurance. I usually double buzz whenever my chops are out so....more stamina = less double buzz....yay! lip slurs
  7. a sad day in the world of free marching band videos
  8. that is an awesome idea
  9. my highschool's going...our show is a watered down version of rite of spring...does ne 1 know whether haltom's going?
  10. i'd like to add that this is 2 years after madison changed their entire brass staff...after marching there for the past 2 years i can't say i saw this coming but it was a high posibility...only the future knows what will become of the corps mynma Madison Brass 05-06

  12. my band has a really low 130 compared to the other 5A High schools in the district...its sad that theres 900 students in the sophomore class and only 30 of them are in band
  13. lake highlands is playing Symphonic Metamorphosis When Jesus Wept Melody Shop we're doin the top 3 for honor band
  14. sounds cool. The meyeresson organ is HUGE!!!!!
  15. i'm most definetly going ps. bring extra mouthpieces!
  16. what ever happened to simplicity? Noteworthy's a pretty simple programs that can compose and edit music pretty quickly...none of that crappy finale crap...and its also pretty easy to bypassthe whole demo mechanism.
  17. that allen selection system sounds kinda harsh...band students aren't just a bunch of tomatoes in a crate.
  18. i got 2nd chair in my region....movin on to area.
  19. David Holsinger's songs are good UT Arlington Band Camp!!
  20. Really long list of good songs out there the really good ones i can think of right now are Vesuvius The Planets Symphonic Metamorphosis Anything by Michael Daugherty, Alfred Reed, or Grainger Melody Shop - greatest euph march ever Manzoni Requiem Scythian Suite Canon in D Variations on America Cirque du Soleil Rhapsody in Blue
  21. I went to TMEA last year and wow!! the stands are like being in heaven. Besson has this really cool euphonium with the trigger for the 4th valve so f's and e-flats aren't sharp...don't really see the need in it but it sure does look cool. Wilson horns sound really good but valves are harder to push down than any other instrument i've ever played. Yamaha custom euph's are pretty good for high school players. I say Besson makes the best euphoniums though.
  22. my private lesson teacher had highlights in his hair to take attention away from his balding spot. We always used to make fun of him..u could always tell he was in the audience from the reflection surrounded by spiky blond tips.
  23. i love phantom regiment. I agree A Defiant Heart is one of the best shows by PR of all time. On top of that they have one of the coolest drum corps names ever
