  1. I knew I should've stayed. Well, thanks to the SAT, I barely made it in time for the 5As. The group that stood out to me the most, and I figured so (and predicted so) was Mansfield. For the past month, I've been hearing comment after comment about them, THAT guard has something special in them. I don't know what it was but I felt I was drawn into the action and I watched in "awe" the whole time. That was something special in that sector that I NEVER have experienced before until now. Trinity was the surprise band in finals. I had them below the charts, there was just too many individual errors and moments in the show that just made me yawn. This year should be the rebuilding year for them and I know down the road, they will rise but today was a yawner. I had Coppell ahead of Richland and Rowlett and I was very impressed with the control Clements had in their sound.
  2. You and me both. It was cheesy and had no place in the marching field.

  4. I don't expect a lawsuit. The young man told ESPN that it was no one's fault and isn't pointing fingers. Though I do expect some rule changes pertaining to the distance of off-field equipment to the end zone.
  5. Haha, oh terminator. The drive is too far unfortunately. That competition should be a lot of fun too. And Trey, of course I will be supporting you. I've been supporting your band and boosters for the last 3 seasons. It should be a lot of fun watching Danielle in her last competition. We will be spending the morning at Grand Prairie HS taking our SATs and then I will drive her to Duncanville.
  6. I am going as a spectator again! (for the 3rd year) I can't wait to see some great shows. I hope that seat on the upper row below the judges on the 50 is open, because its MINE.
  7. Congratulations to these fine organizations.
  8. I would love to see somebody other than a HBSC band try this. The closest though might be some of those in Atlanta.
  9. Uh oh, this competition seems to be the "payback" competition.
  10. I can answer this, the microphones during Duncanville's performance (not that they needed microphones anyway because I was at the very top center and I could hear them easily) were sputtering and during the flute solo, a director (upon further review) told the student in charge of the soundboard which buttons to push and what not and the microphone issue was fixed in a heartbeat. As for the "controversy", I am not going to say anything about it because I wasn't able to witness to what happened to Coppell. But I am ashamed on how many people are jumping to so many conclusions and showing their true colors, but when you have controversy like this, I am not surprised.

  20. Well guys, to all of you who are anxious for this day to come, it is finally here. I don't believe in giving out luck, because luck shouldn't belong at a contest. I know these 17 bands earned the right to compete here and no matter what my band's placement is, I will be proud. As a senior, my sunset will occur tonight, and it will be hard to swallow. I know that today I will give it my all. Thats all I can ask. Lets have a safe contest tomorrow, and may the best bands go to state.
