  1. I never said anything about Flower Mound and their inability to play music. I was just in agreement that sometimes one bad score by one judge may put them out of the state race, that was all. I do, however, recognized Flower Mound for having such a strong program. In no way, shape, or form did I say that they aren't that good, or doubted their marching abilities. I was just simply stating the inconsistencies placed by those UIL judges and it may hurt anyone, including your 4th place Honor Band contest Flower Mound.
  2. I could not have said it better myself. Yes, Plano East is good and yes, people overlook them, but judging from their UIL tape a couple of days ago, they need to fix their marching phrasing problems and sustaining their notes. That's why I didn't put them into finals, and if you notice Conner, I did put Flower Mound in the finals on the predictions, the statement I made was just an analysis, not what I think what was going to happen. There is a difference.
  3. Quick question: Isn't your band called "The Jammin' Generals"?
  4. Well, you have the typical 5. Then out of nowhere I would've never thought two years ago that Colleyville Heritage, Mansfield, and Wylie would make such good runs last year and this year. Then you have Allen and Creekview. The more I look at it, the more I realize this competition isn't as stacked as I thought. I see it more as a top tier, a middle tier, and a bottom tier, each in their own separate packs.

  6. I have seen it in action, and I just feel sorry for those bands. You rely more on the metronome keeping you in time then whats going on around you. In some cases, on some bands, the metronome is loud enough so that everyone can hear, therefore, you lose the upper body carriage because you don't need to look up at the drum major. This is a major no-no.
  7. Trust me, Granbury and McKinney North are 4A UIL 4A Alignment
  8. and well, we all know its impossible to take 6.

  10. Mr. Sanchez, can you post the area schedule tomorrow?
  11. I disagree, I think Rowlett this year is a much better balanced band then what they were two years ago, they will fight for the top spot with Duncanville. Berkner and Coppell are at risk to be the odd-man out and every week I think about this, I truly think Coppell is the odd one out. As for Area C being stuck with Region 4 and 20, that's the name of the game. It just provides true, quality state bands.
  12. Region 20 has sent.. South Grand Prairie DeSoto Coppell Duncanville to area. It is official, only 3 bands can qualify no matter if all 3 Region 21 schools make a 1.
  13. Region 20 isn't giving those division 1s like candy.
  14. The only bands I can think of that are on the "bubble" are Cedar Hill, Grand Prairie, Irving, and Irving MacArthur. We need these at least two bands to make just 1s. This is awfully close.
  15. 12 bands down, 16 bands to go. 8 bands need to make a division 1. South Garland's division II really hurt.
  16. You hit it right in the nail Jacob. I expect similar results from 2006 but with a twist. Lake Highlands looks more defined and cleaner than last year, and that was a killer baseball show. Richardson Berkner is looking stronger than ever with their show. Coppell with their show of The Planets and their history. Rowlett, Duncanville, and Sachse are always strong. South Grand Prairie, Richardson, and DeSoto are darkhorses in this area and may throw a curveball and shake this thing up a lot. Questions that must be answered are.. Will at least 20 bands get a division 1? That number is at risk to fluctuate up or down because even though this area has 9-10 bands who are very strong, this area also has a notorious number of weak Division 1 bands. Will a surprise occur with the finals results? WHO is going to state? Area C has gotten tougher than ever before that no one is safe anymore.
  17. Killer area, but I don't want to assume until I have seen most of the bands.
  18. 1. Lake Highlands 2. Waxahachie 3. South Grand Prairie 4. Robert E. Lee 5. Red Oak 6. Everman 7. Weatherford 8. Denision 9. Juan Seguin 10. Irving Full Results. My apologies, I said Brewer last night instead of Denison, I wasnt thinking straight.
  19. 1. Lake Highlands 2. Waxahachie 3. South Grand Prairie 4. Robert E. Lee 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Juan Seguin 10. Irving Don't remember the rest but I do know that Everman, Red Oak, Weatherford, and Brewer made that rest.
  20. Holy crap! I watched Mansfield's TOC show on youtube and I'll tell you what, if they polish that show up and the brass hold out their phrases, they might be a darkhorse in Area B. Of course marching is a different matter, especially when they got destroyed on the judging sheet.
