  1. That's like, your opinion man. But seriously I have to disagree with this take and I've been seeing it pop up here the past week. I liked this year way more than last year. Aside from Marcus I thought the upper tier had much more enjoyable shows this year. Round Rock ISD was fire. There was even bubble bands like Bowie, Westlake, and Dripping Springs who were even better. This was a great year!
  2. Kinda karmic after what happened in 2022. ( I feel like there should have been co champions in both cases but that's just me)
  3. Very deserved state title for Hebron. Hard to believe it's only their second one.
  4. Cedar Park is absolutely making National Finals lol
  5. That was the year Vandys shows stopped resonating as well with me. Knowing this now explains a lot, thank you.
  6. These timing judges are not messing around anymore lol
  7. Hebron actually won music ind. and both music ge judges but FloMo dominated in Visual
  8. Didn't effect making finals for them but wow big time penalty
  9. Leander was first out. Round Rock and McNeil tied for 14th in prelims
  10. I was joking please don't quote me I really hope nothing bad happened
  11. I thinks it's herding the thousands of children cattle that's taking so long.
  12. It felt shaky for sure. I don't see them winning here tonight despite being the overwhelming favorite coming in to this contest.
  13. McNeils show is too cute. It makes me very happy.
  14. This isn't a UIL situation where those tend to leak. You're better off trying to find the nuclear codes than BOA prelims results before the end of the competition.
  15. All of these bands would most likely be National finalists this year. I feel very strongly Leander will still make it.
  16. Round Rock ISD, the most powerful of ISDs (No arguments let me have this right now)
  17. Consistent moderation would be a big help.
  18. "Better" for a source material can be a pretty subjective thing. I think two groups can use the same piece of music in different ways and produce great results. For example, I really enjoyed the samples of Orawa Avon used in 2013, but I also enjoyed Leanders usage of it the next year. I don't really compare the two because the arrangements are in a whole different context to produce unique results for each show. That's really the beauty in arranging to me. No doubt Round Rock will incite thoughts of Babylon by playing Metropolis with a Peter Gabriel ballad though. I just caution those who are quick to judge a high school group to a DCI world champion.
  19. Username doesn't check out. And I liked the super hero show
  20. I really love how Cedar Ridge incorporates their school colors into a great color palette for their show. Such a visually appealing group to watch with the pendulum sets and everything.
  21. It's definitely been more of a trope recently. As long as woodwinds aren't hidden away for large chunks of show I'm pretty ok with it.
  22. Unfortunately I'm eating soup today 😞
  23. I wouldn't describe band members waving bright flags "shoved in the back" but I guess every human has their eyeballs.
