I didn't say they wouldn't. I just said I'd be surpized. And that's not because of the Crossmen, it's because of the fact it's historically difficult to win division 1. The Cavaliers, BD, SCV, Madison, Phantom, and Star are the only 6 corps who have won a championship, and only 4 of those corps have won more than once. Could it happen? yeah, sure it could. Will it happen? I dunno... I hope it does, but I just don't know if it will. To me, the only new corps who is capable winning in the next 3 years is Bluecoats. -C

20 dollars says you wouldn't have said that before the move to Texas, even with the audition of Chambers. Crossmen definetely have a shot at getting into the top 12, but I think top 8 this year is a stretch, even. "Winning it all in 3 years" is not even close. heck, I'd be surpized if they won sometime in the next 10 years. This isn't a shot at the Crossmen (I love them, afterall) but for a new corps to win DCI is extremely rare (the most recent being Phantom in 96), ecspecially a corps who has missed finals for two years straight. Will Crossmen make finals? No clue. You can quote this post and save it if the Crossmen make it in the top 8 this year, and if they win it all in 3 years. I think a more reasonable assumption is 12th or so this year, top 8 in 3 years. -C

almost. Dancer in the Dark is incredible... While I'd give the nod to SCV 00 or PR 93 over Cadets 05, I wouldn't say it "blew it out of the water" maybe out of a puddle. ~>conner

yes, that's such an incredible show... Adagio for Strings is probably in the top 3 ballads ever put on the field. -C

Cavaliers 1990-91, Phantom 93-96 and Glassmen 1999. I'd also throw SCV 2003 in there for good measure. -C

I'd like CRossmen to add a silver sash or something to their current uniform... it's to dark and runs together on the field. The red helped out a little bit, but silver would do the trick much better. -C

from an outsider looking in... I enjoy Wesfield, The Woodlands, RR, SFA, Bowie, Marcus, and of course Bell a lot. I've never seen Richland or Spring, so spare me from not including them. I loved Bowie's show this year... and making BOA grand nats finals is not an easy task... they deserve to be on the list. -C

well, if they get a better visual show, and a stronger drumline/guard, then I agree. until then, the only thing putting them in finals is their hornline. -C

1995, please. black, with silver trim and sash. I love the khaki in 01-02 with the black sash... didn't really like it in 2000 with the red sash. -C

look for them to get new uniforms for the 07 season, but not to break away from the purple/cream combo. sorry. -C

no, they don't. most top level corps usually go at least 2 years on a uniform... generally, it's 3-5 before getting a new set. usually not only one year. ~>conner

Phantom 06. Cavies were still better, but Phantom 06 is probably the best 2nd place show I've ever seen. -Conner

that's just how it is. It's not just Crossmen, it's like that with every single corps. When I went to the Crown camp last year, they asked for an 85 dollar registration fee PLUS a camp fee. It's not total garbage, it's a requirement for the corps to run. Pay it and be happy you're trying drum corps. -Conner
