I'm not trying to benit-picly, but before warning people that Cavaliers go to Europe, make sure the organization even hints on it, instead of reading a rumor on DCP. There has been no credible information as to if they are even leaving the US or not. -Conner
-
if they make finals, it will be low finals. I'm expecting them to move up, but still be about 13th for a year. rebuilding sucks after you've been out of finals for 2 years. -Conner

best. idea. ever. -Conner

me and 5 friends are going to audition for Glassmen. me on mello, two friends on trumpet, one on snare, one on tenors, one on bass. -C

want to talk about low hats? take a look at Boston and BD's shakos. crazy. -C
-
hm... I like The Cavaliers, and Glassmen's crisp, clean design. The clean uniforms make them look taller and cleaner. -C

http://www.regiment.org/story.cfm?ID=617 looks like Rick V is taking the helm of Regiment. er... didn't even expect that. I'm not sure if Seidling is leaving Phantom entirely or not... but if he does, with the new opening at Madison... could he possibly take it? Seidling has a tremendous record of bring corps back out of a slump... he broght Phantom from 7th-8th in 98-00 to 2nd in 06. Brought Southwind into striking distance of finals in 2000. we'll see... I hope Rick V doesn't turn Phantom into a reincarnation of SCV, though. -C

the most blended chord I have ever heard, in my life, is the end of the ballad of 02 Cavies. Not the biggest fan of that show, but holy cow. -C

I can't believe Heat won. they cheat. -C

05 Crossmen were pretty clean... just a terrible book. -C

I expected BK with a 68+ oh well. -C

SCV's on fire... and I can't believe Blue beat Madison by 4... Colts scored closer to Madison than Madison to Bluecoats. -C

wasn't me that said it. it was the founder of the most active forum on the internet, and a person who doesn't care for changing drum corps... which means he must have a bias against The Cadets. (that was sort of a joke.) I can't say anything about The Cadets because I have no seen the show. I have heard the full show on a myspace clip, and it was, in a word, amazing. And I don't like The Cadets. and sure, it's essential for Bluecoats to beat Phantom... if they have intentions of winning. I'm just saying, that for this season, as well as everyother season, I'm cheering for Phantom. -C

2006 MARCHING SHOWS
CHS King Mello replied to Aegis Fang's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Matt stopped by the other day... but aside fro mthat, it's been pretty... um... well... ::shrugs:: All I can say is thank God the season is about to start... we're finally having some intelligent conversations. and I do mean SOME. -C -
Just for the record, West Coast scores are usually higher until west/mid/east corps meet up. From what I read (and heard) The Cadets are going to be hard to beat this year... I'm going to quote something George Dixon (a general naysayer of the cadets/changing drum corps,) said about The Cadets from Gettysburg. I don't think it's safe to say any accusations about who's going to win until the first major regional. until then, I'm hoping Phantom getting beat by Bluecoats is not a trend (love both corps... but Phantom is my favorite corps of all time.) -C
-
well, I'm going to DCI Atlanta... I have seats on the 48 right under the pressbox. -C
-
Cavies are playing like SCV. The drums even sound like SCV now. Cavies used to be like Machines (pun not intended) but now the percussion sections is very flowing. I like BK's line... thought they were underscored last season. -C
-
anyone notice Bluecoats and Phantom both beat Cavies in percussion at Toledo? Glassmen weren't far behind either. -C

2006 MARCHING SHOWS
CHS King Mello replied to Aegis Fang's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
just some random high school band from SC, but: Clover High School is doing a show called "Insomnia" We're playing music from Wild Nights from Harmonium, by John Adams (ala Phantom 03.) Sleep, by Eric Whitacre. Without Warning, by Steve Mellilo. -C -
yep... much better than last year. I like them. -C
-
Dan... you have a strange point of view... not that I dont respect it... just different. -C
-
opinion sort of changed with seein this picture of the brass. sort of looks cool as a whole. You can see the stripe in the middle of the jacket is supposed to connect with the one on the pants. -C
-
that's a picture from family day. Tim Jackson is in Blue Devils A Corps. The one with the blue tenors in the background is from the B corps, and the black tenors are from the C corps. IMO, BD messed up. Why in heavens name would you switch from a unifrom that resembled a tux (with pinstripes and all) to a unifrom that looks like a jogging suit FOR A GODFATHER SHOW? That is, unless BD decided to change the show last minute to The Amazing Race. -C
