I expect James Bowie, Cedar Park, Vandegrift, Leander, and Reagan will be the top five with a score gap in between. Maybe Friendswood or Vista Ridge could challenge, but to be perfectly honest those top five look and sound a step ahead of the rest.

Their show, titled Surreal, is quite stunning. Their uniforms are light blue with white clouds. There are egg shaped props that can be split in half to reveal band or guard members. Musically, they are breathtaking. Woodwinds have a lot of color. Brass is powerful yet beautiful. Marching isn't perfect, but great for early on. But that is expected, too. I noticed the show shirts have a cherry on them, and in the show one of the guards flags has an apple on it, which puzzles me a little. And also, the guard is awesome sauce.

Any thoughts? I'm predicting Kellet, Marcus, and FloMo take top three with a sizeable gap after that.

I'm pretty sure he didn't mean anything negative about their show. Offering your opinion isn't a bad thing. Aside from that, CEDAR PARK!!! Wow!!!

I agree, I've seen some beating on Cedar Ridge, and I'm puzzled as to why. Last year was a very strong program and they were just as good (better, even) as the finalists from SA imho. I don't expect domination but to be impressed, yes.

I don't know if Rattler Round-Up is a performance, but I do know that Richland's performance is at 7:30(according to their website).

Man that is the most annoying metronome I have ever heard on the Vista Ridge video.

After looking at the Top 20 bands' calendars from BOA SA, this is what I've found: Hebron, Vista Ridge, Friendswood, Keller, and Berkner (parent night?) have performances today. Reagan (Rattler Round-Up?) and Richland have performances tomorrow. L.D. Bell had a community performance last night. I guess it's pretty common!

I think I'm going to do some investigating.

Do bands typically have August performances? Are they open to public or just parents?

I've read some arguments that moving Grabd Nationals to Texas would be bad because Texas is not centrally located. Well that is true, but that's not saying that Indianapolis is. I'd say that somewhere in Kansas would be good because it is the center! But, if it were to move, Texas would dominate. There usually 3 Indiana bands in finals (Avon, Carmel, Lawrence Central) and the other 9 are from other states. I'd say it would be harder if it was in Texas because you have CTJ, The Woodlands, Marcus, Bowie, Reagan, RRock, FloMo, Leander, Hebron, Bell, Cedar Park, Cedar Ridge, and Coppell. And that's just from one state!!!

Lol I wouldn't be surprised. Area B and D were pretty sketchy and proved how the 1000 point range isn't a very good system(at all).

I think I read online that he is going to a new high school in Frisco. I'm hoping they recover with an out of the box show.
