I watched Friendswood perform this weekend at the Galena Park Marching Festival. Their show design, marching, and music in the first two movements are especially excellent. However, their final movement is very raw and probably just put onto the field. For that reason, I do not see them winning Lone Star Preview this week, but I do believe they will be in contention by the UIL State Marching Contest.

I enjoyed your show as well! I especially enjoyed the choreography to Fight Club.

I'll be honest...I don't see any dark horses contending for a medal this year. I obviously could be wrong: Centennial was third in 2011 and Dripping Springs seemingly came out of nowhere in 2009. That said, my opinion is that Cedar Park, Dripping Springs, Friendswood, Leander, Connally, and Vandegrift (in that order) are the contenders for medals this year. If I am leaving someone out, please feel free to comment - dark horses are always exciting.

Thank you both for the responses! I think it will be interesting to see how Dawson does at Lone Star this year. According to last year's results, Dawson did not make finals? Wow, that is really surprising. I'm not from the Houston area, but I have heard it said that Dawson and Friendswood have a friendly "rivalry." Is that true? On a random note, will Spring be going to Grand Nationals this year?

How did Friendswood sound last week in their exhibition? And I appreciate your comments, titancoaster, I'm pretty much going by last year's results!
