our 2008 production is called krakatoa. the show will depict the moods, surroundings, and events related to the 1883 volcanic eruption on the Indonesian island of Krakatoa. fun stufff. for more, go here: http://nshsband.org/

our assistant director was offered the head director position at r.l turner. and he took it. so right now, we are interviewing ppl for the job.

haha. lets say smith's show is gonna be . . interesting. and this year, we're going to the birdville's contest.

oh yeah even though we might have 207 people we will still only march like half the band. weird, i know.

supposely smith is gonna have 207 band members next year. and only 28 of them are seniors (my class).

So, Newman Smith Wind Symphony is for sure playing: Rolling Thunder Molly on the Shore Symphony No. 3 "Slavyanskaya" Its a fun program. I'm excited. We have Pre-UIL on monday.

we are having my private lesson teacher's jazz latin group, he's the lead trombone player of the UNT 1 o clock. Newman Smith is playin' Count Bubba's Revenge, Body and Soul and Got A Match.

This is my first year being in jazz and I was put in my school's top jazz band. I was wondering, who is all going to the TCU Jazz Festival on March 29th in Fort Worth and the CCCC Jazz Festival on April 5th in Plano? What are you guys playin' for those festivals? And oh yeah, we are also hosting 1st Annual NSHS Jazz Festival on March 8th.

we had a tuba and two trombones (which are brothers). but overall we have 4 all-staters because our pianist made all-state jazz. i was one away from state. but its okay. i still have next year.

I just recently posted a couple of videos I recorded from Saturday on youtube. I uploaded Sherman, Carter-Riverside, The Colony, Frisco and Aledo. Sorry for the low camera angle. I was working my shift that morning. All of the recordings are from prelims except Aledo's because my sister recorded that one for me. (also Aledo's camera angle is higher than the others.) Enjoy!

i enjoyed many of the performances yesterday. i had recorded some bands on my camera while i was working crowd control. they are frisco, the colony, aledo, little elm and sherman. all of them are from prelims except aledo because my sister recorded that. later today or tomorrow, i will post them on youtube and myspace.

hosting is quite fun but tiring.

i wish we(newmam smith) got to perform our show. kinda like a exhibition at the end. because our last whole show performance was last week. :[ oh well. i'm gonna be working crowd control from 8am-12pm. so i get to see the bands from there. and then i'm gonna be working band host/drumline runner from 5pm-done. hopefully i get to see some of you guys?

i can tell you that tomorrow. because my director posted the list of bands on the board. and i will write them down on a piece of paper for you.

It's this Saturday. I'm gonna be there from 8 AM until it's over. The Newman Smith band is gonna be working this event. Anyways, who do you think is gonna dominate?
