As an Area C parent, I am really looking forward to seeing both Friendswood and Dawson. I feel like we always hear about the Area D bands, who are fabulous, but the other areas have and can produce great marching bands. I don't think you should count out any band that was close or won an Area championship! (Lake Ridge, Waxahachie, Friendswood, Dawson). I can't wait for tomorrow! I think I am going to sit in the Alamodome all day long!!!!

What are the differences in the scoring system? I was curious as to what comparisons can be made. I can't wait till Tuesday!!!

What were the Area D official results in order?

Waxahachie, like Friendswood, has never been a 5A band. We also are a growing subarb of DFW area. The band has grown tremendously in the past eight years due to the strength of the program under the leadership of Mr. Rich Armstrong. They were the 4A state honor band the last cycle, so ineligible to compete in the current competition.

Bravo! Every parent and student needs to remember the ideals put forth by UIL competition. I must say that our band director is a huge stickler when it comes to our band students' actions and responses on these type of boards and at contests. They represent not only their band, but their high school and community as well. Everything on this board is an opinion, and as such, subject to interpretation. Thank you for reminding us all that sportsmanship and courtesy are essential in positive competition.

I think that leaving Waxahachie out of the top five is probably a mistake. They are having a great year!
