Haven't seen that many yet but I gotta say I really liked CTJ's show this year, a lot more playing than in previous years.

Did Wakeland clean up their individual marching from the faster part of their drill? Saw them about 3 weeks ago but haven't seen them since.

Any possibility of an oil boom in Leander? Lol

Just wanna remind anyone that isn't familiar with the UIL judging rubric that it's 3 music and 2 MARCHING judges, not exactly the same as a visual judge.

Quick question, if every band that has made 4A and 5A finals in the past few cycles were to go to GNs including bands who make Finals at BOA, what do you guys think GN Semi's or Finals would look like?

Meanwhile we're getting a considerable amount of Freshman who don't even know how to play or read music or bother to get any better

Is it wrong for me to wish all the LISD (Leander) bands moved up to 6A this year? But besides that, I'm really jealous of Leanders Rocky Point Holiday, to whoever wrote that, give that man a cookie.

That was directed to what you said about Marcus, Hebron, and TWHS being here to stay (Don't mean to come out rude).

I can honestly deal with visuals or body work, but some bands use it to the point where they're not even playing half the show and THAT'S where the line must be drawn. But same here on the parking and playing, except I think it's more of a matter of, "Come on, this is marching band, you're SUPPOSED to move when you play." haha

Wow. Kudos to you guys for being able to perform such a fantastic and high-demanding show with so few upper classmen!

Lake Ridge last year is a fine example of drill I personally like during a drum break, doing drill that's tiring and being able to come back and play like it didn't even affect them. Doing body work that doesn't take much effort (especially for an extended period of time) I see as a cheat to recharge for the next time they play. I know each band has their own style, but just my opinions.

I meant visuals done when not playing, sorry for not being more specific.

I'm part of a band that really isn't a fan of all the visuals most of the top 6A bands and some 5A bands do and I've wondered if you guys part of those band programs actually like doing those visuals? They just seem really unnecessary and boring to us and I assume to most of the lesser known band programs around the state. Another question, would you like to actually play more during your show than doing all that extra stuff just for more Visual and GE points? Not trying to bash but it really annoys me when the winds only play for about half the show and the other half doing visuals or gathering around props.

I never said it's everyone and I never said judging period, I said UIL judging, which is meant to be only on how well your marching and music is performed. And as for take their place, I honestly have no idea, but other people would be found. But explain to me the 22 spot margin (9th and 31st) with Smithson Valley who ended up getting 23rd. I'm not saying they're bad b/c I've actually never even heard of them before, but I'm pretty sure someone in that panel prefers one type of show more than the others.
