we have the awesome band parents who help us out ALL the time with props, equipment, etc. and are chaperones because they love the program. and THEN we have that one clingy/over-protective mother (no names mentioned, all the hebron kids know who im talking about) who is for one a big jerk to everyone that is not her daughter and has raised her daughter to be just like her (looks, personality, everything). dont get me wrong, she helps out, but her daughter is definitely the main priority over everything and everyone else. it's supremely annoying.

i think he means bands that are not usually heard of in mainstream marching band conversations. but as to exactly who those bands are, im at a loss.

ours are mostly in pit. but the past two years we had an oboe player (who now attends Juliard) play Bass 5 and then Tenors.

you know, my indivual playing level seems to suffer in marching season considerably. are there other people that have this problem or am i just wierd?

i feel that we'll do better than previous years, but other than that, i cant say much.

you know, out of all of those bands, I've only really seen three of the shows from the stands. (Bell, Marcus, Haltom) which is a shame 'cus I've heard some great things about quite a few of them. only 4 days left!

amen to that.

we usually meet anywhere from 3-5 hours before our warm-up time and do some really good breathing, buzzing, and other fundamentals to get us relaxed, focused, and at the top of our game. and after that we get a quick stretch and start reinforcing choreography and other essential parts of the show. and finally a run-through. i think pre-contest rehearsals are my favorites.

man stuff like that gets me insanely pumped. i love it when bands show their respect and appreciation for other bands. its just completely awesome.

All I can say is daaaannng. Talk about cut-throat.

marching band is really the only reason i go to school (besides friends). i absolutely love going to contests and football games! sometimes the rehearsals are really frustrating but the contests and games make it all worth it. concert season the past two years has been A LOT of fun because i've been in 2nd band and thats the fun one. we're good enough to play cool music and relaxed enough to have some laughs along the way.

we just follow normal audience etiquette and cheer for things we think deserve it. (i.e. solos, cool visual features, etc.) and we usually cheer for bands after their performances. well at least thats me and the people i usually sit with. we usually only go crazy over big things like making finals at a BOA event or getting top three at other competitions. i know at ToC we went insane when we were announced 1st place. none of us expected it.

our tubas own! my section is so much fun. definitely the best in the band! btw . . . TUBAS OWN TRUMPETS!

yeah frikkin A! last year our show's coolest physical feature was completely missed because the camera focused on a lame pose in the woodwinds while the brass jumped and spun and all kinds of hoopla! talk about frustrating!

yeah guys thanks for the props to hebron. id just like to say that were friggen excited about the upcoming competitions. Music in Every Direction . . . thats where its at.

yeah, my band is doing really great this year in contests, but our rehearsals are kinda "eh". there are too many people that hate certain directors/marching techs and simply wont listen to anything that is said to them, just because its that certain director/tech that said it. its extremely frustrating.
