  2. Strange, I don't ever remember saying that....
  3. For all of the 90's I remember that Spring, Westfield, and Duncanville were names to be feared across the state. Churchill took the bronze in '96 (unless I'm wrong?) and in '97 set the score of 96.00, the highest regional score to date. They have seemed to be in a bit of a decline, however; I haven't noticed any great placements from them except the "usual": Finals placements at State and BOA regionals. They did, however, place 1st in prelims for State '04 (they dropped to 5th in finals). I have a more specific question, though: where was SFA during the 90's?
  4. Exactly. Bell, Reagan, SFA, to name a few have stuck to UIL's 8-hour rule, and have still performed exceptionally. In 03, when Westfield won GN, Reagan was .05 behind them (.25 without a penalty) and they held to 8-hours a week. Bell was 3rd in semi's and 5th in finals, and they also held to it. This year Reagan again finished second (to Carmel this time, by a margin of 1.45 points), and Bell pulled into 3rd for finals, with a difference between 2 and 3 of .05. All this against bands who are not limited to 8 hours every week, and usually practice more. It's all about practicing intelligently, and using your time wisely.
  5. They were the first the first to find the "loophole" of participating in UIL, that I know of. Spring, if I'm not mistaken, also dropped out last year (04). Has anyone else done this? I didn't know you could drop out until they did it.
  6. Hrmm... Interesting, but not something that jumps out at me. I guess it's too early to be hearing too much, though, and then there's the fact that that clip doesn't have any percussion either. However, it does have potential to go places. I (still) can't wait for the Southwestern Regional.
