  1. AwWwWw. Just look at the love between Spring High South and Spring High North! Make me wanna vomit... Btw, we should start referring Westfield as Spring High South or Spring-Westfield High School from now on, it'll confuse people lol. Thats what the school was called in 1971, thats what it will be called now ><
  2. Ok. So this is a story that many of the Westfield kids from that year still don't even know about. Since this happened at a place were some people would be mad....i'm really sorry and I had no part in putting this together. So, we were at a Westfield vs. Conroe game back in 2003. The sound techs for that year were completly and uttlerly insane. Thier names, I will not reveal becuase I dont want anyone to be mad. We had just arrived at Conroe stadium and we were a bit early. So these two guys, and some one or two of the leadership saw that there was a forest right behind the visitor side of the stadium and wanted to do some exploring. Now mind you, no one knew what was going on. As far as most of us knew, they were going to ask the directors about something. So as it turns out, they went into the back of the woods and there was an abandoned couch. Now them being band kids, they had to do something mischevious. So a with camera with night vision, and an empty bladder later, a film was made...Now if you don't quite understand what I mean, there was an abandoned couch, and some guy, for lack of better words, shat on it. Now his buddy with the camera filmed it...No one knew about it until the ride home when they were talking about it. Now, this has been a kinda Drumline secret and like I said, a lot of people even from that year didn't know about it. Of course, when we arrived home, everyone had to see it....and might I say, I saw from beginning to end and no nudity was spared. IT WAS HILARIOUS. You could actually see the fecies comming out of the guys butt. It was the most disturbing, scarring, amazing thing I had ever seen at the time. Well thats my story, and of course I have many, more incriminating stories than that but thats all you get sooo...
  3. ****NOT A PREDICTION**** 1. Westfield - 5A 2. Hendrickson (Pflugerville) - 4A 3. Seguin - 5A 4. Spring - 5A 5. Brazoswood - 5A 6. Cinco Ranch - 5A 7. The Woodlands College Park - 5A 8. Oak Ridge - 5A 9. Friendswood - 4A 10. Alvin - 5A 11. Comeaux (La) - 4A 12. Lamar Consolidated - 4A 13. Caney Creek - 4A 14. Conroe - 5A 15. Dayton - 4A 16. Birdville - 4A 17. Dickinson - 4A Some thoughts before the competition: Westfield stands a good chance of winning from what I saw at BOA Houston but Brazoswood could pull this one out of thier hats. The Woodlands College Park has a very nice and put together show. They will definantly be in the top 5. I can't quite speak for some of these schools, but their reputations put them in finals for me: Oak Ridge, Spring, Friendswood and Seguin. The rest are a complete mystery to me. 4. sin(x) + xcos(x) Why does cutiepatuty1289 think she is so smart?
  5. Westfield's drum room is the exact same way. LOL. Right down to the "no eating" rule. We tried to keep it organized but it always found its dirty side maybe 2 days later. Much love to ya.
  6. Because its the only store that sells replacement teeth for all of its redneck customers. There are 20 people in an empty, square room. Each person has full sight of the entire room and everyone in it without turning his head or body, or moving in any way (other than the eyes). Where can you place an apple so that all but one person can see it?
  7. I'm talking about Reagan. (No bias intended) Nice uniforms Westfield also...wish the gold was silver but it is still effective. The design of the Westfield and Reagan uniforms are some of the most effective i've seen on the field in respect to helping upper body. Also Marian Catholic and Brazoswood are well designed. Btw, i was just looking at the BRB site at the pics of Geiger after GNs....TOO FUNNY we got him sooo bad. LOL
  8. Hmmm, I like them...but then again they do wonders for your upper body facing from the box, i'm sure they hide many facing errors. Nice idea and good design.
  9. Westfield doesn't attend UIL Marching Contests.... Why am I so darn sexy?
  10. Ovbiously thats me in 2005 during the last movement of the show. The entire drumline was integrated...cool!
  11. Oh come on. Every year Westfield's show is a secret and its not gonna stop being that way... We just have better things to do and usually dont even think twice about posting....Just look at how many Westfield students use the forums, alumni and current members....not that many. I can count them on my fingers. Anyways be patient and deal with it.
  12. The Sun's energy output (3.86e33 ergs/second or 386 billion billion megawatts) is produced by nuclear fusion reactions. Each second about 700,000,000 tons of hydrogen are converted to about 695,000,000 tons of helium and 5,000,000 tons (=3.86e33 ergs) of energy in the form of gamma rays. As it travels out toward the surface, the energy is continuously absorbed and re-emitted at lower and lower temperatures so that by the time it reaches the surface, it is primarily visible light. For the last 20% of the way to the surface the energy is carried more by convection than by radiation. .....Thats why.....lol Why is the Qwerty keyborad so much worse than the Dvorak, yet eveyone uses the Qwerty?
  13. 1. Becuase band kids are just so awesome that we pwn the sun. 2. Cause ur not a pu$$y. Why does U of H rock soo hard?
  14. I recently submitted the Westfield 2006 (Spring Semester) PASIC Tape to the TXbands.com media archive. It has been accepted and you can all listen to it now. We quite make PASIC but I think it is still good. 1. We cut out the first movements of both major ensembles. 2. The composers are as of following: The Palace of Nine Perfections - Eric Ewazen Xpu-Ha Experiment - Phillip Mikula Concerto for Piano and Percussion Orchestra - David R. Gillingham 3. We worked extremly hard so no bashing on this post please. Nevertheless, constructive criticizms are very nice and helpful. Enjoi!
  15. Dont worry about it. We all have it. It may be caused due to something you ate or something...psychological..maybe. Who knows, at our age insomnia is not really a problem. But if you are seriously worried about it, I guess go to your doctor or something. But i'm sure its nothing serious.
  16. While i'm thinking about it, Spring 2002 - Grandscapes was amazing. I remeber it my freshman year and was in total awe. Although they had problems at Grand Nats, the show concept was all GE and Visual. GJ Sping 2002!
  17. cuz your friggin' dumb! j/k Why is Will and Grace still the best show on tv?
  18. Well, first off, your one of the only people outside of Westfield who will admit to liking that show. Secondly, thank you for all the compliments. I am a recent graduate of Westfield and we really appreciate the awesome feedback and for starting this post in our name. Also, special thx because I was the Drumline Section Leader that year...(the black guy in the center of the snareline), we worked incredibly hard on that music and its always rewarding to hear good things about what you love to do.
  19. For those of you who don't know, Westfeild High School hosts a summer music camp for one week. It is called HASWE (Houston Area Summer Wind Ensemble). This is our 3rd annual camp and once again success. We had students from Klein Districs and those from Willis ISD and our own Spring and Westfield high schools. The ages for the camp ranges from high school freshman to college students. The camp was one week, including an open, free performance for the community. The repertoire for the 2006 year included... --Baron Cemetier's Mambo - Donald Grantham (Performed by the 2006 ALL-STATE Symphonic Band) --O Magnum Mysterium - Morten Lauidsen --The Hummel Concerto for Trumpet (Performed by Steve Gullage, a Sam Houston State Universtiy Alumni) --Circus Days - Karl L. King --Nessum Dorman from Turandot - Giacomo Puccini --American Faces - David R. Holsinger The pieces we performed were both EXTREMLY challenging and fun. Hopfully soon, we'll have recording for you guys to listen to. For now, you can just go to www.HASWE.org, to listen to the camp from last year. This camp is growing in popularity and is a great experience to go. Hopfully, the camp will be even more diverse next year. THANKS!
