Thanks for posting this! I love reading these opposed to just the scores because I don't always get to attend the competitions.

The story: That year Crockett decided it would be a good practical joke to tie up their band directer and stick a flute(as well as a few other things I won't mention) up their butt. It was the day before State. The director being furious -and rightfully so- decided not to take the band the competition. But determined as they were, the whole band found a way to make it to the competition; even without missing a single person. When the director got wind of this, he rushed down to State and tried to sabotage the performance by running on the field and doing crazy fists. Punching at any students that crossed his path. Left and right! One-two combos being thrown around like beads on mardi gras! Despite all this, the band hit their last chord and finished the show. And it was glorious. And that's the story of how Crockett won the whole State competition.

You're right I can't figure anything out there. They need a whole site revamp. There are recaps????? If you find it can you plz link to me? For those who attended can you talk a little bit about it?

Props to the LD bell band for doing so well this year and in the past few years. Y'all must be a very hard working group of kids! I want to also give some props to my two bands Bowie and Akins! You guys rock Give up the props txbands! Best, M

Despite the title..... I think this topic has become less about slamming Bell than it is about finding out how much certain bands march and play at the same time. Which is straight up interesting. It's just cool to look at the numbers. Not because marching and playing at the same time is what is need to make a good show that brings out your emotion, but because marching and playing at the same time does take more mental energy and is more taxing(of course there are tons of factors like music difficulty drill difficulty blah blah blah).

Hey you don't need to give excuses. lol jk At first I thought it was kind of retarded but with further thought I think this is pretty interesting. At least to me.... Let's face it. It IS harder to march and play at the same time. It's gets increasingly more challenging with harder drill and music but you knew that. It's another thing for the marching band fanatic to analyze. Keep 'em coming man these rock!

Can you pretty please do Akins 2006/7/8? That'd make me happier than a fat kid in a candy store.
