Director Changes

Akins had yet ANOTHER director swap out this year. For the past five year the only director to be there the whole time has been Gary Faust the head director. I think it's apparent looking at the different shows over the past few years now that I look back on it. A quiet joke kind of around the band hall was, "Hehe...... how long do you bet this person will be here?" -

I've been through this a few times. Just remember this, it is GOING TO SUCK when you try and come back. Not only will you sound bad but it will be discouraging. So just do it TODAY. Man, longer you put it off, the longer it will take before you get good, and you'll just wasted a whole bunch of time instead of getting the results sooner. Dude, just MAKE yourself do like five minutes a day, literally. Build momentum and then it will be easier. Give yourself some time to play something you like to play. This way you won't anchor all those feelings of playing something you don't want to play to practicing. I made a thread of accountability on another forum. Every day I posted in the thread if I praticed or not, how much I practiced, and what I practiced(if you don't practice a certain day, tell us why honestly you didn't). Everybody can then judge to see if your excuse was valid or just lazy BS. You may want to consider something like this to help get the ball rolling. Btw, I'll be playing Weber bassoon concerto at state s & e. -
It's a crime against humanity and your country if you don't see this movie. Ironman makes all other movies obsolete. There's no need to make any other movies after this. This is THE final movie. Okay, all kidding aside, this movie is pretty freakin' fantastic. I watched it twice. Tony Stark is my hero. The movie is hella funny too. Random chick: "Hi, remember me?" Tony: "SURE don't" The music is awesome and fresh. Discuss the movie here.

borchnork, this is your Biology teacher. I will be taking up your lab write ups tomorrow, and you better turn it in or I'm sending you back three grades. ....... Okay, I've just been informed I can't send you back any grade levels. I can take off 10 points however for a late paper. Be afraid. What's your all-time most favoritist thing to do at TMEA convention?

Hello all in the music world! I'm searching around for bassoon cane: for cheap. I just started making reeds. It's my current obsession and it's all I've been able to think about the past couple of days. I had four pieces of GSP cane which I've effectly butchered as I begin this new exciting journey. Money doesn't come easy around my parts of town so I need to shop smart. I'm comparing prices and it looks like in the long run buying in bulk would be the best $$$ option in the long run. I've also looked on ebay to see if I could get some for really cheap: no dice. If anyone knows of some really inexpensive cane, do tell. It should also be noted that I'm not planning on playing on these reeds. I'm just trying to find the something I can practice on to get past the learning curve. Once I'm consistently putting out quality bassooning devices I'll move on up to the good schtuff. Oh yeahhh. Thanks to everybody in advance! and stay safe!
