Now that we know what music everybody is playing who do you think will be this year's Honor Band. Your reasonings could be based on musical selection, hear-say, or if you actually heard this band. Personally I think Coppell will get Honor Band this year because they have been in the final five for quite a while now and it's their turn now!!!!

Hey so once we get all of the State finalist from each area why don't we make a prediction for this. It'll be fun to see everybody's opinions. Can somebody please do it (once the canidates are all announced)?

yeah cypress springs had its ups and downs. We were the first to play on thursday so we made a very good impression on everybody. The ironic thing is right after the concert dinner on thursay people started getting sick. THroughout the whole trip at total of 20 people out of 60 got sick. We don't know what it was but we're thinking a virus. I felt good until i got back and missed monday because i had a stomach ache and homework to do. The trip was only really fun because our director canceled our rehearsals since not enough people were able to play. He letted us roam the city and we went everywhere like the RCA dome to see the Final four preparations. It was awesome. Overall it was a good and helpful experience by the clinician and master teachers

I also play the oboe!!! and the english horn!!! I actually made state. I made 2nd on English horn and am going to be in the Philharmonic Orchestra!! Oh joy. I am the principal oboe player at Cy-Springs in Region 23. I get all of the solos and am pretty good. Im kiddin Im pretty normal!!!! I love the oboe and am gonna play it at the UT-Austin band next year!!!!!

Ok...so i did the easy way out and did english horn but I busted my butt and made first. I later taped myself and am waiting to see if I made it to State!!! How did everybody else do at Area auditions????

Cypress Springs Symphonic Band is going to the National Concert Band Festival (which we deeply underneath our smiling faces are dreading). We are playing: Tuscan Serenade Morceau Symphonique Star Spangled Banner Terpsichore (all 4 movements!!!!) The Engulfed Cathedral Rolling Thunder For Honor Band Recording we are going to drop the first threee pieces and play the snot out of the other 3!!!!!

Yeah....nobody mentioned this rare piece called TERPSICHORE....it's a freakn long piece which we're playing this year and features every instrument as a solo....even rare instruments like alto flute. Our band is about 230 right now and we're still growing because sudivisions are being built all around us. We just broke the 200 mark and going for the 300 mark!!!!
