    Yep, 'tis the season. Our student leadership met last week. Drum Majors are off at camp out of state this week and both percussion and CG start up today.

    I suggest reaching out directly to the director at Glenn High School in Leander. She is an experienced director but did this with Glenn the last couple of years as they have started up the new school. I'm assuming it was a strategy as they are growing the program.

    Vista Ridge had their preview tonight. Sounded fantastic, definitely something good going on there. Can't wait for marching season!

    It should officially be the San Antonio Super-Duper Regional.

    Vista Ridge will have two new associate directors. One has been announced: Reid Atkinson, currently head director at Grain Valley, MO. He will be the main man for the field show at Vista.

    They announced the new director last night. They have hired Reid Atkinson, who has been the head director at Grain Valley High School in Missouri for the last 10 years.

    I has this conversation with a football parent once. I made the claim and he called B.S. So I started walking him through my kids' summer band schedule and after a minute or so he raised his hands and said "I give. I had no idea."

    If gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and synchronized swimming are sports, so is marching band.

    I don't think the band gods are into smiting. They're into more subtle stuff like sudden wind gusts, failed mics and split reeds for soloists.

    Leander ISD is considering a similar calendar change.

    It's listed on the calendar, but so are some other competitions that we are NOT going to. There has been NO communication about GNs this year within the band, so I am pretty sure it's not happening.

    It was announced at The Midwest Clinic tonight that Vista Ridge is one of this year's winners. So Proud of the Ranger Band!
