Area D Finals just finished.

After watching Finals, my guess to advance: 1 Cedar Park 2 Dripping Springs 3 Georgetown 4 McCallum 5 Rouse The last slot I am unsure. Best guess is either Austin or Connally.

It's pretty chilly at Gupton, but not as bad as last night.

I'm trying not to be offended by the "correct order" comment.

FYI - Gupton Stadium is in Cedar Park, not Leander.

10 bands in Finals and 7 advance to State? Kinda brutal on the other 3. Ouch.

How about this: 4 of the 6 have medaled at the SMC in the last 4 years, 2 of them twice. And 1 of the 6 doesn't even have seniors yet.

I know what you are getting at, but the thing is that they do what they do extremely well and it's a show made for UIL success.

I will be attending the game with #27 at #7. Not too shabby.

This is solid. I think 1 and 2 are locks and G'town seems like they are having a great step-up year.

I think Georgetown will very likely make it to State. I think they have a solid shot at the 3rd slot at Area behind Cedar Park and Dripping Springs.

I have not seen their show, but based on this result I would be wary. By my quick count, there are 36 5A bands in Area D (Regions 11, 12, 18, 26, 29 and 32). So that is a maximum of 7 slots for State, more likely 5 or 6. In my estimation... Locks: Cedar Park, Dripping Springs Next ones up: Georgetown, Rouse, McCallum Then: Hutto, Connally, McCollum Does Ann Richards compete at 5A for UIL??? If so, they could be in the mix as well.

I really enjoyed their show and was surprised when they missed Finals. They were so very good that year. It's a shame how far they have fallen.
