I agree. Dripping Springs is good, don't get me wrong, but I don't see them beating any of the LISD bands.

Ridge Point and Tompkins advance from 5A Area E

Area E just got changed to Wednesday the 28th

Typically considered the worst area in the state, I know. But things may change this year and since I'm from there I'm interested. There's a few really good bands that could really shake things up in San Antonio. I obviously don't have the entire list, so I'm just gonna, more or less, list off the bands that at least have a shot at making the top two that advance from what I've seen throughout the season. Brenham Foster George Ranch Ridge Point Tompkins Waller I'm going Ridge Point and Tompkins all the way. And I'm not just saying that because I'm in RP's band. Our show is easily the hardest that will be at Area and after a 4th place finish at Sam Houston State, beating a lot of good 5A and 6A bands and only barely losing to the rest of the top 3, I like our chances. And Tompkins has been on fire all season, finishing 7th at Friendswood and 5th at Lone Star. So talk, leave your predictions, whatever. Area E might have some surprises this year.

So I'm switching from trumpet to tuba this year. Any advice?

Ridge Point 2015: In the Shadow of the Mountain -Vesuvius by Ticheli (Yes, we'll be figuring out a way to march in 9/8 for this) -Come Sweet Death by Bach -Children's March "Over the Hills and Far Away" by Grainger -The Engulfed Cathedral by Debussey Drill was designed by a guy who's currently on tour working with the Blue Devils, Tim Darbonne. So expect it to be great. Also, not gonna spoil anything because it's gonna be awesome when the whole thing comes to fruition and surprises are fun, but expect some really cool effects and visual stuff.

For a corps like Crown or BD, incredibly tough. You're still a sophomore, so you've got a few more years to improve; and you seem like you're doing pretty good already. Not discouraging you from trying, of course, but making any top 12 corps (and even non-finalists can be very hard) is no walk in the park.

I'm thinkin Friendswood too. They're insanely good this year. For us, I'm expecting 6th, maybe. 3rd at the highest, 10th at the lowest

So far, I've got (As of 10/1/14) Central la Fourche, Klein Collins, Travis, Lehman, Cuerto, Cinco Ranch, Dekaney, Klein Oak, Stephen F. Austin, Ridge Point, Westfield, Westside, Klein Forest, Hargrave, and Friendswood.

Since DCI was included... New World Symphony, Defiant Heart, and Spartacus; all by Phantom Regiment. I honestly think that, for high school, my band's closer this year. I'm not biased, I just personally find it pretty awesome.

So I've been looking on here a little, and I literally can't find anything about Area E (My area) from this year. Might be because we're overall the worst area or whatever, I don't know. So, this is kinda just a post for that. Results, analyses, opinions, whatever. Just anything Area E related.
