I find that usually when people "accept" that a band isn't an elite band they tend to be surprised when that band does much better than expected. We should all keep an open mind and remember that anything can happen with these contests.
So now that we all know who will be heading to state, does anyone have any thoughts as to what might happen? I think the top three will most likely be Marcus, Bowie, and Hebron. But then again.. this is UIL so I wouldn't be willing to put money on any specific band taking state this year.
It was most likely a combination of the sun being in their eyes and the fact that it's really hard to have the same level of energy that early in the morning as you would in the afternoon. I feel like that might have also been what kept Round Rock out of it back in 2012... but who knows. UIL Judging is usually (for the most part) inconsistent anyways. I'm sad to see Round Rock not move on though.. I really liked their show! But I'm no UIL judge
Are you basing this off of Bowie's performance at BOA Austin? Or a more recent performance of theirs? Im just curious because I thought that compared to Bowie's Austin performance, Hebron's Denton performance had just a tad better ensemble balance and blend. I do realize that Hebron performed a whole week after Bowie did, which is why I'm kind of wondering which Bowie performance you are basing this off of.
I saw Bowie at a football game 2 weeks ago and I have to respectfully disagree. Their show design is coming together quite nicely and I think that their music and drill is already cleaner than their show last year was at the end of the season. They continue to get better and better and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them place higher than they ever have before at San Antonio this year.
Actually, I believe Round Rock placed 3rd at BOA Austin.
Based on what I've seen so far, here are the bands that I believe have the best chance of moving on:
1) Bowie
2) CTJ
3) Round Rock
4) Hendrickson
5) Reagan
6) Cedar Ridge
7) Westlake
