Rate Your Sections
pianomusicman89 replied to bossman's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
the best section in our band is the clarinets...four all staters and all of the clarinets in our top band made region. wow, i wish the entire band had as much dedication as they do. not to say that there isn't dedication in other sections or that the band is horrible we have all staters in many of the other sections but the clarinets have the most. -

we're playing a difficult line up this year and im actually excited/worried about it. we're playing (as far as I know): Dionysiaques- Florrent Schmitt In Wartime- Del Tredici (not sure bout the march) yikes!! -
i hope jerry jones doesnt coach the cowboys...that would make me offcially hate the team because i hate jerry enough as it is. cowboys arent going to be as good next year.

Senior Musical

last year, my school did west side story. IT WAS AMAZING!! the talent and effort put into that production was astounding. i chose not to be in the pit so i could watch the show. thats the down side of playing in the pit, you can't watch the show. -
GO COLTS...heh, patriots. hehe HOW BOUT THOSE PITTSBURG STEALERS??? i feel bad for them

So, how'd everyone do at region auditions?
pianomusicman89 replied to M1KH4J157's topic in General Off-Topic
really? in my region, they take like 6+ to area -
this is totaly like comparing apples and oranges. you can't compare them at all. in both, it takes great amout of skill, concentration, devotion, and conditioning. how many of you actually play football too? lol. so i think it's even harder to compare unless you've actually have done both marching and football varsity playing. sorry if this sounds rude, but i feel strongle about this :-)

pianomusicman89 replied to M1KH4J157's topic in General Off-Topic
i honestly think alto sax is more competitive than clarinette considering last year, im my region, there were 100 saxophones audition in phase one, and they took 14 to phase two. and at phaase two they only take two to area. not trying to diss the clarinette b/c i know its hard too. but in my opinion i think alto is a little more difficult, edgier. -
Cavaliers reveal 2007 program concept
pianomusicman89 replied to euro_euph06's topic in Drum Corps Forum
I agree, you can't win every year anyway...but come one, if you're winning 5 out of the seven years...that's just amazing!! they have to be doing SOMETHING right to win. so i trust them. and billy joel isn't a bad artist. i think there is alot of potential. with that many genres of music coming from one artist, think of all the stuff you can do. who know's? you can't judge a book by it's cover. -
All-State process
pianomusicman89 replied to smoke_dawg_08's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
we don't do district it's just region for us, no district. however, i think itd be cool to have a district band. we'd be awesome (marcus, flower mound, hebron, lewisville, the colony) -
2006 UIL State
pianomusicman89 replied to Xenon's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
i completly agree. i think we should just have one judge for music and one for marching almost like the UIL 1 act play for theater. they only have one judge because having more that one takes away the learning and fun of competition because u have so many differences of opinion. it just makes sense to do it that way for me. -
langham creek...i love pines of rome!! just wanting to hear u guys play that is enough motivation for me wanting to make all-state...jk jk, no but really! (well, not it's an added motivation to making all-state) i've never heard el camino real...recording anyone? for our winter concert we're playin... southern harmony olympic fanfare and theme sleigh ride Irish Tune from county derry. (i think i read someone else was playing this too...I'm not much of a fan or this song)
