  1. Churchill Reagan MacArthur Judson Smithson Valley Wagner New Braunfels Lee Madison Roosevelt East Central Cedar Park Georgetown Leander McNeil Stony Point Round Rock Vista Ridge Westwood A&M Consolidated Belton Bryan Copperas Cove Ellison Temple Pflugerville Westlake Akins Austin Anderson Bowie Connally Red=My Highly likely bands. Blue=My bubble bands Anyone else wanna play?
  2. But my point is that the results didn't really change a whole lot... I mean they were pretty much bubble bands, and that didn't change.
  3. A little late on my reply, but... Bowie was one off finals and Akins was off by three in SA. Bowie made Nats that year as well. So really the judging for those two bands was not all that different. Not making finals doesn't mean those bands did poorly at the competition. I know you know that, but the way you said it made me double check who wrote it.
  4. Definitely, if the last 5A State taught us anything.
  5. Well, I thought Bowie had Marcus because the music grabbed me unlike Marcus. Marcus was amazing, don't get me wrong, but Bowie was like, we are here - now sit and listen. I thought they just had so much more emotion behind their music. And I didn't think it was all loud, when they got quiet, it got quiet quiet, there just wasn't a lot of that. Marcus on the other hand made me nod off a few times to be perfectly honest, they were fantastic, but they failed to pull me in at all, quite the bore. Were I make my biggest comparison in the music though was Make Our Garden Grow, both bands had it. Bowie had a fresh take on it that made me want more, Marcus was more traditional and was just really good, that's all.
  6. You and I are alone in the world. I thought so too.
  7. Bowie still seemed to retain good quality of sound though to get 2nd in music in finals.
  8. Georgetown did very well, the score they received would put them in finals at most regionals. This just happens to be a ridiculously hard one. Really only 6.8 and 8.3 behind two powerhouse bands is not bad at all. Most competitions that's probably smaller than the gap between 1st and 14th. And I would go on record saying Bowie and CP are not GE powerhouses, they're good GE-wise, but that's not what wins them competitions. They just worked their butts off all season, including those last three weeks. I'm not saying Georgetown didn't, I'm just saying that's how they made that gap. Talk to anyone who saw them at both competitions and they will tell you it was a huge change in preformance level. Every band there deserved their placement. And Georgetown's placement was good, congratulations on a great preformance.
  9. That souds like a lot of contrast actually, haha. ff-ffffffffff.
  10. Dark Horses to take it: Woodlands, Show Design is phenominal this year, plus they are known for peaking late, I'm excited to see if they can preform the show up to it's potential Bowie, Shaky last year, looking fairly solid this year, again, if they preform it to were it was designed to be, it's a winner Brazoswoods, Sound is awesome, Wow, bet they've been cleaning like mad, same as the other two, if they can pull the preformance, they can clench it Dark Horses for finals: Akins, there show is good, clean, they can make it Colleyville, they look real good this year
  11. I can't decide which is better, the last block the first day, or the last block the second day. Yeesh.
  12. To be perfectly honest, it's not as good as previous years in my eyes either, but they are just amazing at what they do.
  13. Agreed. I'm pretty sure Reagan could still have beaten many of the bands in finals, even with a show thats not at its peak yet.
  14. I'd bet money SFA would be at about an 85 by Arlington at the very least. Those scores don't surprise me a whole lot.
  15. Crazy competition. Cedar Park goes into finals in first, Bowie 2 points behind and Georgetown barely trailing them, then Cedar Park drops 2 places in finals.
  16. 1-Bowie 2-Georgetown 3-Cedar Park 4-Akins ... 9-Westwood 10-Connally Thats all I can remember.
  17. That would have been insane. Man there is a huge drop between the top three and the rest. Congrats Marcus.
  18. Any comments on the other finalist bands? Bowie, Martin, Leader, Klein, Spring?
  19. Yall were pretty solid, congrats on a good first preformance.
  20. I can't believe no one else caught this. 8 is the cubed root of 512. Last time I checked you don't know numbers, so '08 is the best.
  21. I loved your solo. Good job. I also think you guys should have placed higher. At least above Round Rock at any rate. Good job nonetheless.
