I think Round Rock will still make finals at Grand Nats. How does everyone feel about Churchill's placement and their potential at Grand Nats?

Nope. In fact, getting 9th last night is their highest BOA SA placement so far. They got 13th in 2015 & 2016, and 12th back in 2010.

I can vouch for this. I was an escort for the Vista Ridge Marching Contest and as I was watching Rouse warm-up, I heard Hays in the other warm up zone and I was completely shaken. Hays also won the 6A music caption over Westwood in prelims, so I can see both Hays and Georgetown (who has a VERY entertaining show) place anywhere in the middle of the pack!

Interesting, almost half of these potential finalists (I agree with this list of top 10) have been regional champs before. Nice to see BOA Conroe growing into an early-bloodbath contest/BOA Austin 2.0.

Really excited to see some of the Leander ISD bands compete at Regionals outside of BOA Austin (Vandy/Leander @ Conroe, Vista @ DFW)!

anyone have anything to say about Reagan? their bottom 7 finish was not what i expected, especially after their win at Conroe

I don't think I have struggled more to make a list of finalists for my predictions, not to mention rank them- "BOA San Antonio is the 2nd Grand Nationals" is such an understatement

I think that Hebron has a VERY good chance at winning the eagle, in addition to the music caption. Even with the non-Texas bands that are very consistent in placing high at grand nationals, such as Avon, Carmel, and Broken Arrow, I strongly believe that a "Texas sweep" is possible (Hebron, The Woodlands, Round Rock). Also very excited for Keller, their show is fantastic and they definitely have a great chance at making finals.

Texas bands, especially the 6A "BOA" bands, are extremely consistent... and with the Indiana bands and the other previous Grand National finalist bands that are also consistent, it's hard predicting captions and placements. I know that basing of previous years could bring some people to predictions but all that I can say is that the Texas bands that will show at Grand Nationals next season are almost destined to make semifinals, if not finals. But it would be nice seeing The Woodlands win back to back championships. Honestly, the fact that there's a decently long list of bands that have been able to maintain consistency every year is just outstanding, and is why I get more hyped every season.

Just curious as to what people's predictions may be for the 2015 UIL 5A State Marching Band Contest (competitors, finalists, medalists, etc.)

all LISD schools (except for Rouse HS) are 5A and are most likely not going to attend BOA grand nats since they'll be focusing on state... but there may be a possibility in 2016
