I have watched Vista all year but today was the first time I saw them perform the show. Unreal performance! I had chills!

Don't see much here about PSHS and thanks for posting! I saw the show this year at the Homecoming game and really enjoyed it. Some great kids, wish Plano could grow the band culture more, compete in BOA, etc., lots of talent and potential! Go Plano Wildcat Band! PSHS class of 80 (Trombone).

I got to see Westlake at Region, they are looking good again this year and looking like Westlake. Also Lake Travis was much improved from earlier in the season and they will be in the hunt as well.

Area H for 5A is only 3 bands. Westlake is in the 6A Area H group and 6A has 4 bands going.

Others may have a much better answer than me but it doesn't look as odd if you look at the alignment map for Regions, Area H is composed of Regions 32, 29 and 11. It's a big state and the 3 regions are adjacent and cover more South and west of Austin.

Going to Gumpton Stadium in Cedar Park tonight for a good one with Region 32 (5A and 6A bands). Just look at this amazing line-up ? 5A: Cedar Park Glenn Leander Liberty Hill Marble Falls Rouse 6A: Lake Travis Vandegrift Vista Ridge Westlake

Just as a sampling on the location aspect of Grand Nationals let's reverse this and look at when Avon came to Texas. They received 4th place at BOA San Antonio in 2017. 2006 is the last time they did not medal at Grand Nationals. Avon goes every year to Grand Nationals and is very used to going. They are used to performing in the stadium and all the other factors that go with a basic home field advantage. This is a factor, but as some Texas bands like Vandy have shown it is not insurmountable. It is harder for the Texas Bands having to travel further to a less familiar environment and less practice time. Just makes me more proud of the accomplishments of the Texas Bands!

According to the LiveBlog posts Vandegrift takes 4 out of 5 captions and comes in 2nd? Not sure how that happens?

Nice to see the "Mothership" again (Mandarin's, Vista Ridge's and now Coppell's big rotating platform)! I liked the way they used it with the center prop. and paint scheme. I agree they looked and sounded really good! Hope to see them in finals!

Heard they had their best run yet at the Football Game Friday night. I got to see them in exhibition Saturday night at the Vista Ridge Marching Festival, was looking and sounding better than last weekend and they had some new parts added. I am getting really excited for it and how it is going to turn out!

Looks like the 3 Box5 boom mic's for the band are high up and close to the field. Some of the band provided speakers may be behind or parallel with them so the sound will not pick up as good online from the solo speakers.
