I wonder when Vista Ridge will make its maiden voyage.

I think Vista surprised a lot of folks yesterday at BOA. I think they are set for a very good year.

That would be cool, they could do a lot from that band. I love some of the stuff Post Modern Jukebox has done for covers.

What songs would you love to see incorporated into a production. I would love to see this one done for instance (Paint it Black)

One think I noticed, Is that Cedar Park & Vandegrift are signed up for a ton of BOA contests, Vista and Leander seems to be signed for less. I wonder what the advantages/disadvantages are full going to a ton of BOA's.

And..... When we had the same conversation, they were shocked at how much money we had to pay for the kids to play in the band. I can't remember the number but it was high based on instrument cost, repairs, private lessons, uniform costs, fair share costs for practice/travel .... We didn't add in the cost of band trips because personally I don't think much of those other than they are fun for the kids.

We shall see, They have beaten them both before and all three pull from stellar middle school band programs.

I wouldn't count out Vista Ridge

My youngest kiddo performed with his band for UIL yesterday, does UIL post the results for their band and the other schools in our district? It was the middle school concert level at Lake Travis High School.

That Violin play is on this forum :-) We will see if he chimes in.

Rouse pulls from Stiles MS which splits between Rouse and Vista Ridge. It is a very good music program there. I am vested though (my kid plays there. The biggest problem Rouse has is that they are in a killer music district so the bands are all really good and it is hard to stand out. (CP, Vandy, Leander, Vista, Rouse) Soon Glenn HS will be in that mix too.

I remember Vista's pyramids from 3 years ago? (the year before the 4th dimension cubes) were sold to Lake Travis HS band and used in their show the next year. Those props if I remember right were deer stands originally.

They haven't announced it yet, but I think they voted overwhelmingly for it last night.

I heard they voted for DOI tonight.

I think that this will become the norm across the state.

I wish they would go this fall since my son won't be there until the year after. The amount of fundraising....ugh
