I thought all the bands at TOC were phenomenal, some stood out of the crowd more than others. My personal favorite had to have been Sachse("Departure" - The airplane show). I don't know what it was, the drum major podium held my attention for a while with the flashing lights.

This is an old topic, but just wanted to say we were there. It was a good contest.

Newman Smith is going, hopefully we can do better than we have!

Hey Josh, are you playing contra in the bluecoats this year? if so, you probably don't remember me, but I played baritone and was at the camps through January until they let me go lol.

lol we play dodgeball also except we play on the tennis courts by some of our houses where we have 2 teams and throw balls back and forth it gets highly intense especially when we play like 8 on 8 haha with like 20 balls its so much fun

i play trombone primarily, i know how to play baritone from dci auditions, and i have a trumpet at home that i mess around with and play really high notes ;D

so far while i've been at smith, our shows have been apx 7 min 45 sec total for both UIL and BOA, so we haven't had to cut off any part of it i remember last year, creekview added an entire movement to their show for the super regional

i'm not certain, but from what i've heard, isn't Allen HS the only HS in Allen? so that is another reason you have so many people.. i'm i'm wrong, correct me please!

i have a video of bell from BOA arlington prelims, my mom decided to record it, but i can't get it off the camera because i lost the cord to connect to my comp

i'm just wondering if anyone has written any type of review i saw the rankings above and stuff did anyone write any show specific information?

so has anyone written any thoughts or reviews yet for area b?

i think the best way to announce that would be to start with the 1st place and go down, that way it won't do what it did to creekview and allen with the alphabetical announcing, and it will still give everyone that feeling of anticipation

also, why did they start announcing with the alternates? we were all holding hands and it was tense while awaiting the advancement announcements, when they say, "The alternates are Newman Smith and Summit"..... that just kind of ruined the moment for us and immediately we all looked at eachother and said "OH okay! yeah!"... then we had to sit through and listen to the advancement announcements while everyone cheered. that's just my opinion though, that it ruined that feeling of anticipation while waiting to see if they'll say your name for state.

yeah, i just wish one more band from Area B would have made a 1 at UIL so there would have been a 6th state spot, therefore, we would have been the 1st alternate instead of the 2nd alternate ;D

Congrats to all the bands that made finals and especially congrats to the bands who are advancing to state. We got 7th, but we had our best show of the season and i'm pleased with how it came out. Again, congrats to everyone!

haha that kinda sucks that we were 1 band short from advancing 6 bands. this happened 2 years ago also, we were 1 band short from advancing 5 bands! oh well i guess this just happens!

hey rdzsaxplaya, i caught your show in the morning between working traffic and crowd control, and i dont really remember thinking anything bad of it.. just that you guys do need a little more practice... like everyone else has been saying, you guys still have a long time to make it better best of luck to you guys and everyone else

I really don't quite understand why we just stand there while they announce the finals results, but our director just told us we were going to stand there for a really long time. Last year, right after we finished, we went to the center of the field and sat down while we waited for the announcements. My back started to hurt, trying to keep good posture lol
