Ugh, I hated how one of the winter drumline judges commented about "musical theatre" or something like that. I understand the concept of telling a story but excitement, difficulty, intensity...those rank above for me, well, most of the time.
Yes, we did. I have to say that is probably my favorite memory EVER:) This contest was so different, though. I mean, usually Taft and Marshall go to finals together. we're like buddies;) Heh. Northside is so huge, it's a surprise we don't just have our own Area already! Just kidding, of course
Area 2006 was a very interesting contest. I remember crying because I was so mad at the thought we'd miss out on state again. Anybody hear of Area E 2004?

Sharyland - i know they'll pull ahead after the upset from 2006.
SA Taft - not just because it's my alma mater but because the show is pretty cool and pretty clean.
Harlingen - always a great band! i'm never disappointed when i see these guys
Harlingen South - same as Harlingen
Donna - consistent area finalists & they sound well overall
Hannah - i like the sound of the show
Edinburg North - Christmas show is unusual but I hear it's been working out for them
I really don't think the UIL system is THAT bad...I like that UIL judges for accuracy, precision, & execution, whereas it seems like BOA judges mostly for show. And while that should count, it shouldn't be EVERYTHING...
