It’s been a great show! El Dorado made me tear up a little during that full flag feature. Such a beautifully crafted show. Carmel and Arcadia were also beautiful. It’s significantly harder to focus on everything in Arcadia’s show in person vs online. I missed so much looking all over the floor 😅 Very interested to see how much shakeup in results there will be.

That was very shocking. maybe I was a little harsh on initial reaction from TWHS, but it just didn’t have the same level of execution/energy from prelims. Still thought they did a great job, definitely deserving of the scores they are receiving, I just felt that run could’ve been a little better comparable to previous performances. Still on the hype train (plane for departures?) for them to win big in Dayton. Don’t know if they’ve ever had as talented of a group before.

I believe the year they almost medaled (2023) they were slotted pretty far from top 3 and then just barely missed out on a medal. Also last year I think they were pretty underrated going into Dayton. Seems to be a yearly thing where they are such an outlier at every regular season contest so it’s almost more of a guess for where there scores would line up with the Carmels and Arcadias of the SW realm.

Pearland makes me emotional every time I see it. That show is what open class is about. Beautiful stuff! -

So far in Open class I’ve got to say that James Bowie has been the stand out for me. Cedar Ridge was good, just some laps in performance quality. Definitely much better runs by most today! -

TWHS A just blows my mind. They certainly don’t look like a JV group. Beautiful last few performances to wrap up scholastic A! Thought TWHS may overtake Jordan, but the effect and design of that operator show are very strong. Still love Veterans Memorial too. Such a simple, effective design. -

College Park’s commitment to character made that show 10 times better! Loved it -

Dripping springs had some very beautifully written work. Loved the Sabre stuff with the fabric! Very nice! -

Loved Brandeis! They always have some of the best shows year to year. Also love George Ranch! One of the most underrated shows of the year in A class to me. -

Hendrickson had me sad and then the end was almost… ominous? Almost felt like a “you’ll be dead one day” ending. Middle part was great! Loved the leaves. Also Lockhart with the American Horror Story “Balenciaga” reference was perfect. -

Loved Cy-Woods! The fences were a little loud when they moved, but they were nice set pieces. Rouse also very impressive! The breathing stuff at the beginning and end was great in a live environment. These Leander costumes are BEAUTIFUL in person. They pop! -

I will be here all day! I’ll give some live updates periodically on the groups. Excited to see the improvements made since the New Braunfels contest! -

Watching the Woodlands on the stream made me even more excited to get to see that live tomorrow! What a show! Not sure how I feel about the final flag color choice, but the work is great. -
I have seen Carmel twice via livestream, and I have to say from a design point it’s very similar to Arcadia. Lots of slow, ballad moments without much in terms of in your face impact. I would not have them in first. Right now I’d have Woodlands, Arcadia, and then a pretty big gap to Warren Central/Carmel for 3rd.

slightly higher angle of Arcadia. I just think TWHS has a higher ceiling with what they are doing this year. Can’t wait to see the reaction in UD for the ripple towards the middle with the rifles under the benches. Arcadia has a polished product that is beautifully done from an aesthetic standpoint. Definitely have a leg (or 8 🐙) up on movement analysis. Gonna come down to GE preference!

Is there a video of TWHS world? I’m trying to find it but I guess I’m struggling to search the right term 😅
