What a show. One of my favorites out of that school.

In my opinion, UIL judging is very inconsistent at state. Especially prelims. You can have a band get a ton of single digit placements and then one judge has them at 25. Thankfully finals is often much more consistent than prelims

I have to say I have a lot of questions. Congrats to everyone who made it though!

Judging panel difference is showing right now.

This is the one complaint I have with the new judging system. I understand why it has been changed, but this could easily start all new controversies over who makes finals because "one judging panel had higher numbers" and whatnot. But I do agree Vista Ridge can easily win 3a today.

I sat watching Vista Ridge with my jaw dropped. There is no way a band should have a performance like that at 7:15! That was incredible!

POC and Paramount tied... as if the scores weren't close enough yesterday lol. Tomorrow will be very exciting!

I thought Avon had a rather rough run and Carmel a solid one. I didn't see Trumbul so I can't say they were better or worse than Avon. While I agree that circus shows are done very often, there's something about Avon's take on it that is so refreshing. I hope they can have some strong runs the next few days and take it home, but that's just my opinion. Carmel is growing on me. I appreciate it, and love the energy. Still don't care for parts of the soundtrack, but they can perform wonderfully. I don't know how they were over half a point ahead of the others. Maybe equipment? That was a VERY strong asset for them today. Interesting to see Paramount .1 over POC too. Lots of upsets. Like March madness all over again...

Never said it was wrong, just confusing. POC cleaned it up today! Yesterday I wasn't convinced on the show either, but today sold Me! Also only .1 between Avon and Carmel now getting really close on the home stretch.

Yesterday was a wonderful day for winterguard. My standouts (scholastic world) of the day were Avon, Stoneman Douglas, Tarpon, Flanagan, and Center Grove. West Broward was good, their show just didn't really hold my attention as well as the others. Carmel was... interesting. The show is alright in the first half, but when the guy on the soundtrack starts moaning it gets awkward. Incredibly clean, and love the visual aesthetic, the soundtrack is just a little out there.

I feel horrible for Avon. After the whole tie last year to 3rd in their director's last season. Hopefully next year is strong comeback for them.

Most likely to pull a Carmel last year: Avon. Lots of people have them 3rd, but we'll see.

I'd not be surprised if the top 3 are within half a point. Each had a strong caption.

After last year and the times they've met this season, they just want to beat Carmel. And honestly I would too! Maybe crush is a little harsh, but it's all in friendly competition (at least I'd hope lol)
