I feel like you are discounting some of the bands here... I know Hebron has been up there fighting for a high spot for quite sometime, last years was an awful year and they will all tell you that. I was a freshman at Hebron 8 years ago, we were 4a and we always seemed to find our way into finals at BOA (being the only 4a school, during that time) and always would do well. I think you have to be careful about bands that have found more recent success. I personally think Hebron has had success and I know Johnson is young but they are going to be a force for a long time. I do think it is a cultural thing though in those programs. They set the standard so high, not that others don't but they go out and expect to make finals and they go out and know exactly what there job is. They also have great directors that have been through the harder times and that have really well planned out shows and that helps a ton.

2012 UIL State Advancers

Do you know the prelims scores from the top like 5 band? I heard that in Prelims Hebron and Marcus were really close -
I am going to be honest, I am a Hebron Alumni, I graduated 4 years ago after the show Watched. I know we always were big rivals with Marcus and I know how hard the year was last year for the kids at Hebron but I am so happy to see how far they have come this year, they are making sure they bounce back strong.

I am kind of excited I really look forward to seeing who steps up... I think it will be interesting to see if Hebron can do anything after their area performance, I think it will be a great showing and some amazing bands will get left out of finals. -
Area B marching contest

One thing we have to remember but we often forget or don't like to talk about is how much making a name for yourself helps you at a contest like this, everyone knows bell and marcus are good and they have made a name for themselves because of that, even if they have an off night they make it in the top 3, that is just kinda how it is. I know a lot of people don't like that and it is hard to get a name for ur program but once you do it does help a lot. If it is close they are going to go with the Richlands, Haltoms and Hebrons because they have a repuatation. I know we don't all believe that or like that but it does happen and I think that is where in a contest like this it is a factor in some ways. Also you have to remember UIL is so much about playing, in that case bands like the Richland and Hebrons will do very well. I am not saying this is cut and dry it could go a lot of ways and it will be excitig to watch. I just think we can't discount some things that people are because whether we like it or not it happens. As you get older you really see it. I wish evey band good luck and just have fun on Saturday and if at the end of the night your band isn't one of the four make sure you know you did your best because your best is all you can ask for. I see it shaping out like this... Bell Marcus Richland Hebron Alt. - Legacy and Mansfield It really sucks that they aren't taking five -

I go to Texas Tech and was a member of the GOIN' Band this year. If you have any questions just message me. -
I haven't seen many shows this year, since I am now in a college band and we haven't had free time. I was just wondering peoples opinions, I have seen a couple of shows like LD BELL, MARCUS and HEBRON, and the look really good. How does these bands seem to rank with others what's your idea of this weekend. Do we have an upsets coming with weekend?

I think what everyone is arguing is just because you can play doesn't mean you will march well. They are a lot better this year but I don't know if it will be enough, the area is so tough! GOOD LUCK to Everyone Tomorrow! -
