And there's still several bands left in the schedule that have a shot at finals to go. Prelims recaps are going to be hectic.

The Woodlands' show has matured greatly since I last saw it in Houston. They'll do just fine at Grand Nats. Solid finalist as usual IMO.

Missed Hebron, but Vista was every bit as good as Leander/CTJ from yesterday IMO

My Gosh. Vista Ridge killed it.

Pearland was great. I thought there was a bit too much visual dirt to make finals; but we'll see. I really liked the closer.

Seems like a bug to me if it plays that often. I'd try refreshing the page.

I know for me, when it gets as neck and neck as it is here for some of these bubble bands I can't discern which would be the better band.

Definitely Round Rock's strongest performance I've seen this year. They've improved a lot from UIL Region. The show does a lot of interesting things in the beginning, but I feel the design might grow a little stale as the show progresses. They have a shot at finals here for sure though. If they don't make finals though, I think they are at a place where they can still make GN Finals. (If anyone needs a video of their performance, I managed to snap one too. Just shoot me a PM)

It's actually fairly common at Grand Nationals. Back in 2017 I remember there was a lot of people talking about it.

Bit too freeform design wise to make Finals for me, but they certainly had the energy to make it. I wouldn't count them out of it. Amazing job!

Yeah, don't worry too much about it. BOA has historically been exceptionally understanding when it comes to these things. A few years back the competition got delayed pretty hard due to weather, and while unfortunately many bands could not perform in competition; BOA was able to secure an exhibition performance for many of those bands. Moral of the story; don't worry about it. BOA and your school will do everything they can to make sure you get to perform .

I loved the body movements they had throughout the show. Seemed like a lot of fun to perform.

Area contests generally happen on the weekend before the San Antonio Super Regional. As long as this doesn't change (or more specifically as long as they don't conflict) I don't see too much issue with it; barring maybe less BOA in mid October. (bands traveling out of state for the St. Louis/ Indy Super, but those are a handful) I think both BOA and UIL can and should exist equally in TX. You have a lot of programs nowadays that do shows very different then a "UIL" show would do, and that diversity makes the activity in the state far more interesting then if everyone was judged only by UIL values. Neither style is better then the other, and that means neither contest should force a band to leave a contest they planned to go to just attend theirs. That's just my thoughts on it as a former marcher.
