This is a pretty subpar season for Hendrickson, in contrast with James Martin. Pretty confident James Martin can be a top half contender.

I'm a little confused with why BOA decides to have so much weight on GE. Sure it should be the heaviest, but not by 20%. (adding music and vis) Would like to hear some arguments against my claim.

I think the slight problem with Leander is their drill/staging in the first half of the show, and how aforementioned, the judges not connecting with the show. It’ll grow for sure.

Yay for Seven Lakes Performance time. Their comeback will be at this regional.

To be fair, it takes time to plan schedules with school districts and stuff like that. It's quite the logistical task for BOA. The growth in band participation happened quite rapidly. I don't doubt something will be done about it in the future, but again it takes time.

Genuinely sad about North Shore not being as good as they used to. I really really loved their 2016 show and was expecting for more products like that.

Anyone who has the authority to do something about this, please do so. No matter the city or stadium, every marching competition deserves to be run in the upmost professional manner.

With the likes of Nixon and Donna North not being in 5A anymore, we might seem some new faces come finals time. As for qualifying to state, four of the bands who advanced in 2017 had fantastic showings at BOA McAllen; safe bet they will be returning to the SMBC.
