  1. I'm pretty sure both NEISD schools flew
  2. Post-Gnats -Tarpon's visual was amazing, they should have won that caption at GN -CTJ's energy was INSANE at GN finals -Hendrickson's trombones -Reagan's ballad -Leander's show design in general -Flower Mound -Carmel's fast moments and tuba feature (not the biggest fan of the slow parts) -St. James -William Mason Those are the ones I can think of atm of what I got to see
  3. I didn't get to watch Indy, but based on what I've heard and seen the top 6 will likely be: -Avon -Carmel -CTJ -Leander -Tarpon Springs -William Mason I think SA scores were more accurate in prelims (and many groups gave more impressive showings in prelims) but placements were more accurate in finals. Leander and CTJ are definitely potential medalists.
  4. Leander and CTJ are definitely both pulling through for potential medal candidates at Gnats. I think Reagan may have peaked early (and Vandegrift to some extent)
  5. I'm pretty sure TWHS marches upwards of 40 trumpets but I'm not sure what their full band size is.
  6. Let the bloodbath commence, I suppose. Can't wait to see how it all turns out and to see all the great bands.
  7. People said this about CTJ last year but they ended up peaking at SA with super clean visual and placing higher than many people expected. Of course this is a Gnats year for them so they probably don't want to be peaking a week early, but I think that one week can make a massive difference. Depending on their run (and other bands' runs), I think CTJ place anywhere and the same goes for many of the other finalists. Every factor is a wild card this year.
  8. I have 12 near-locks and a ridiculously large amount of bands in the bubble to fill the last two spots. This competition only gets more competitive every year. Not to mention that there's only one week between SA and Gnats, so the Gnats bands are going to be much closer to peaking than a usual Gnats year, not to mention that a ton of really, really good non-Gnatters are ideally peaking at the same time. I wouldn't even be (that) surprised if there was only a 2 point spread for the entire top 10.
  9. I've seen a little bit of Round Rock and I'd say they're definitely a lock for me personally. The bubble is really small this year! Too many amazing bands!
  10. ^ I think your last statement hits the nail on the head. There are so many great programs that will be at Gnats this year that predicting a top 5, top 10, and especially a winner is nigh impossible at this point.
  11. Someone posted a video of CTJ over in the Fall Marching Shows thread if I remember correctly
