  1. they've improved a TON since DFW! holy cow!
  2. Texas band #1! Let's go, Coppell!
  3. ranking in groups: Medalists: Hebron, Marcus, Keller large gap 4-7: Wax, TC, Prosper, KC Finals Bubble: Summit Trinity (may be able to break into 4-7 grouping w/ a really strong performance) Wylie Rockwall Permian (finalist at Midland! this is a very competitive contest but they definitely could be a finalist). Haltom is literally impossible to place here. They will more or less certainly be a finalist band, but they haven't performed at all yet. St. Louis will be the indicator of where they place. I expect them to be somewhere in the Wax/TC zone but more or less impossible to say.
  4. somewhat off topic from the current discussion, but it still makes absolutely NO sense to me that there's no semi-finals at San Antonio despite there being MORE BANDS here than at Grand Nats. BOA has got to think about revising the structure of this contest!
  5. appreciate the commentary thank you endlessly!!!
  6. wasn't talking to leandermomma, not sure why you thought that.
  7. What's Hendrickson been up to this year? chat around them has been suprisingly minimal. I've absolutely loved their shows the past few years.
  8. I'm not sure why you keep saying this. Colleyville Heritage is a great band with who's historically been quite successful. It's clear that you're from a certain school, and I'll just say this: get off this forum and focus on your show and your program. Looking at random forums with posts from random people making random predictions is not going to help you. Bringing your very best show on Saturday will. Your toxicity is not welcome here, thanks. I wish you and your band the best of luck at this competition!
  9. Mustang is a great Oklahoma band and I can't wait for them to come down and compete with some DFW area bands! That being said - I think they'll have a lot of work to do if they want to top Waxahachie, Coppell, and Aledo. My predictions for top 5ish: Flomo - pretty clear winner here. Waxahachie / Coppell. - could go either way, these bands have been trading places at a lot of contests for the past 4 or 5 years it seems. Mustang / Aledo Colleyville / John Horn / Byron Nelson
  10. someone on hornrank mentioned that owasso guard was barefoot. I really hope that's not true. If it is, I'm shocked that decision ever went through. Come on, people! why would you ever have kids perform barefoot outdoors on a hot field? Not to mention that there could be a ton of random stuff on the field (screws, glass, trash, etc) that could cut you up.... ugh.
  11. yeah, jeez! im sure we all remember how hot turf can get. This begs the question though: what footwear is Owasso having their guard wear? There is absolutely no appropriate footwear that would allow for severe burns. Definitely not a good look for their guard staff in my opinion.
  12. oh my god!!!! that's awful! hope they're doing ok....
  13. what do yall mean by westwood over woodlands? edit: nvm, just saw the class awards. way to go westwood! saw the last half of the performance via stream.
  14. hope everything's ok! never seen an announcement like that made before
  15. i like staying positive about everything on this forum but this a really dumb take. I hope you aren't serious.
  16. should be a great contest! pretty solid lineup. i see richland is in exhibition, any Birdville parents know if Haltom is performing too?

  18. Pretty stacked comp! Loved Oak Ridge's show last year and excited to see what they've got this year.
  19. Interesting! I know it was a big discussion a few years ago b/c Wes is a super talented designer but bands like BA and Bell don't (or didn't) use weapons at all. Wes thought that flags were the only visual components necessary for guards to use. Maybe he's changing that?
  20. does that mean that Wes isn't designing their shows anymore? Or has he finally started implementing weapons in his show design?
  21. Prosper and TC are undergoing significant staff changes this year, no? I hope the absolute best for both programs that they have a good transition and the new staff is a good fit!!!!
  22. got a video of coppell or bell you can share? can't find any of the STL super regional people on youtube:(
