Leander plays South Garland at 2pm on saturday in Corsicana(don't think I spelled that right). Half the band wont be there though cause of region.

We won against Killeen Ellison last night. Now we have to come up on fri at 9am to get on a bus and drive to huntsville for the game at 2 against the winner of the Klein Oak, TW College Park game today.

We won. . I dont really want to go the playoffs this year because we dont have a shot at making it very far and I enjoy having my Saturdays free. I was hoping we would lose last week so we wouldnt make it but alas, when I dont want us to win, we do. Next week is against our rivals, CP, and no matter how much I don't want to make playoffs, under no circumstance can I ever bring myself to root for them to beat us. >.<

The thing is despite only seniors and freshman having to drink it, the entire section usually does as well as some other people who want to pretend to be as cool as us for a couple seconds.

Our sections freshmen initiation is trombone pot-luck. Instead of eating what we are served we have someone bring in KFC. Each returning member also brings various different cooking ingredients and food items. Once the KFC has been eaten we mix everything that has been brought up in a gatorade bottle. The ingredients this year consisted of chopped garlic, onion juice, Worcestershire sauce, banana extract, bbq sauce, a few varieties of Jones Soda, and a small amount of spoiled milk along with some other things that i've probably forgotten. The end result of it all is a brownish colored bottle of gross that both freshman and seniors have to drink preferably causing them to vomit. Its good fun and we can't technically force anyone to participate. We just excommunicate anyone who refuses from the section.

I'm really excited for this years BOA SA. We have a the opportunity to do really good next to all the really good bands in the last block on friday. Looking forward to seeing some shows that we haven't been able to see so far too. Good luck to all.

Blah. We don't deserve to go to playoffs they way we are playing. Lost to G-Town 28-21 making us 3-2 in district and 5-3 overall.

We let our members "feel free to celebrate" when they miss something. Celebrating usually involves 5-10 pushups and is used as a "mental reminder" to not mess up the same thing twice. Leaders can enforce it as well as drum majors and and directors. Most of the time its a self-discipline kind of thing though. We do Hindu before comps too. Its kinda like a stress relieving thing where you start of by rolling your neck, then shouldars with you chin on your chest, then roll down your back, seperate the feet, and hang tensionless for a couple seconds. Then do everything in reverse till your standing up straight again, reach as high as you possibly can for a few seconds, then throw everything down like a ragdoll so your back hanging tensionless. And repeat a couple of times until instead of reaching for the skies, you are called to attention. Its pretty relaxing if you ask me, but some people dont take it serious and goof off the whole time.

We had someone come in during practice last week and steal a bunch of ipods, cell phones, money and various other valuables. They were caught on camera and found the following monday.

Cedar Park. Went there today on an errand for my director, interrupted class to give their director a mello. Just walked up to him and held out the mello. When asked "what is this" I simply replied "A Mellophone" then turned and left. It was awkward. :/
