Do you need sweepstakes or majority to advance?

IMO the last couple of spots in finals aren’t as solidified as a lot of people are making them out to be. I believe bands like trinity, Martin, and any of the Mansfield schools have an equal shot for finals over bands like central and maybe even Richland. Both Mansfield and Martin made finals last state year, scoring higher than Central in both prelims and finals, and I know for a fact that both bands have only improved in those two years.

Looks like area b will be even more surprising.

Area B has like 3 or 4 too little finals spots and 3 or 4 too little state spots.

I know all my friends love to read feedback, both good and bad.

1. FloMo 2. Keller 3. Coppell 4-6. Central/Mansfield/Duncan 7-9. Aledo/Summit/Trinity 10. Lewisville I put a lot of ties because I haven’t been as up to date on band.

Dude you are not representing your band program that well. People are basing their predictions off of a band’s past success, not how good the band is this year. And not everybody knows about every bands past success (for example, I didn’t know that much about sachse and I was surprised by how good they were (also their repertoire was amazing!!!)), so lostchoirguy might not have even known how amazing y’all were. I know you are mad, but online is not the place you should vent; it looks immature and foolish. While this may seem like a small Internet forum, it is much more. While they don’t always comment, parents, judges, and even band directors like to browse this site (most likely including your’s). When you say stuff like that it doesn’t only hurt your perceived character, it hurts how you’re band program is perceived by making y’all seem super pretentious. So think before you post.

Everyone always seems to only talk about the big 3 at this competition. Did anyone see any other bands that stood out?

Horn is a little bit too easy this year, and some of the tempos are wrong imo

Ugh I still can’t get over how unfair it is that this area has like 7-10 bands that deserve to make state and only 5 (maybe 6) will make it.

That does bring up an interesting question, is it better for a band to rush learn a show and clean later, or learn slowly?

I know Mansfield won't be attending HEB finals .

Remember how differently boa and uil are scored however.
