YAY for Leander. I have been a closet Leander fan since my freshman year (2000)[Man im old] And i hope you hit your stride again. Seems like Leander and Spring kinda fell off together. -
College Park

Hey man...im not gonna lie...college park surprised the crap outa me. I know with Royal behind the helm...yall were in good hands. Shes the one who made Westfield so visually dominant while she was there. She could clean like crazy, and it shows with how dominant yall are visually. I really enjoyed the visual aspect of your show quite a bit. Musically...i wasn't as impressed. I dont know if it was the music...but i think it was. The music just didnt grab me. I think once yall get your music program at the same level as your visual abilities....you guys will be a force. Honestly, i can very easily see yall challenging the woodlands for the best band in CISD in the near future. -

The thing that makes area completely unpredictable is that 2 of those 3 competitions (i dunno about Galena Park) are on the BOA judging system. I know many bands do both BOA and UIL...but spring, for example, decided to focus on UIL, so guess what killed them in finals? GE. Guess whats not in the UIL scoring? GE. I hope enough bands make 1's at region...but from what i hear...they are thinking four from area F go to state. -

Favorite Show this season
Tnilli replied to I<3thebox's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
I'm not gonna lie...spring's show this year is AWSOME. Take it I havent seen anyone but spring and westfield... I saw spring tonight from on top of the press box...AWSOME! This is BY FAR the best they have been since probably 2001. Music is great, and catchy as heck. They have some visual things to work out...but this band is back. -

Uniform Pictures *LD Bell*
Tnilli replied to manuel_pablo's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
Get used to Springs uniforms...they've only been around 4 marching seasons (02,03,04,05). Took 9 seasons to switch before. Reagan - Different. Westifled - Sorry...but i hate the change. Old uniforms were awsome...these im not so fond of. Maybe they look different from up in the stands...i'll see on saturday and maybe my opionion will change. btw: i like the spring uniforms...they arent as intimidating as the old ones...but they didnt really change drastically and have a sleek look to them. -
When i saw them...it was about 2 weeks ago at their homecommign and i dont know how comforatable they were with the new drill. They def. did the last 2 parts to the metronome. When i saw it it was extremly dirty, and it worried me a lot. I'm glad to see that they've cleaned it up though... Musically...always one of the best sounding bands at BOA. Not many bands can match the sound Westfield produces, not volume but clarity. Piano player is pretty awsome. I cant wait to see them and spring saturday at lonestar.

First off...good job spring...way to represent. darn our drumline has been smoking for years...im glad yall get to go to some competitions where yall get recognized. And my sister got an award, hells yea. Any clue on scores...i know its not a big deal but i was just curious. Hows the show comming? Oh heck i'll see it saturday.

I know there was a Katy comp today...just wonderin if anyone knows the results. All i know is: 1) Langham Creek (SP?) 2) Spring

darn bui you're good. And why is spring and westfield an hour and a half apart, gah! -
I was just curious on who's going to Lonestar... I know Spring and Westfield are. I'm sure the woodlands is going to do an exhibition performance. Anyone else? Man this competition has grown...i remember when it first got started (2000) NO ONE went and it didnt take much to win it. But now it seems a lot of big names go...cool to have another comp to go to...since it'll be the only one i get to see my sis at.
-
All I can say is that they are playing two piano concertos. I can't remember which ones though, nothing i've heard of before (i dont know many to begin with). I saw them at their homecomming game last friday from on top of the press box...but i dont know if anyone on here wants me to say anything about them so i'll keep my mouth shut. Only thing i'll say is: Visually - Following the SISD pattern. Musically - Sound AWSOME.
-
So i was just curious to whose shows people have seen and maybe tell us about them how they are doing stuff like that. I'm locked away in College Station and I havent even got to go see my alma matter (Spring HS) yet, even though i've heard the numbers are up and the show is pretty dang good. Just curious on who you've seen...

Lets just say...no where close to making finals. I cant really tell what they got, you'll have to wait till its posted, but it wasnt close. :-/ Just a hard year for spring, hopefully they'll get it together for next year. -

I'd really like to say spring was jipped...but they werent. Musically i still think they sounded better than most the bands in finals. They had a balance and dynamic range that only about 3 bands in finals i could tell had. Visually the show killed them though. Some stuff just never came together as the year went. But im still very happy with the way that they played. But as was stated ealier, they didnt have something that gripped you, the GE factor really wasnt there. I do think their prelims placement was way, WAY too low though. Thats rediculous... -
Awsome!!! Yea i think bluecoats would be a great corps to join and i've only heard good things about it. Have you heard anything bout how tryouts work or anything?
