    I would watch out for Cy-Fair. They've taken a huge leap in the past few years and I wouldn't be surprised if they took another one.

    With every single finalist from last year returning, this will be an interesting field. Will the finalists stay the same or will another school crack through?

    Even though the Texas bands don't have Saturday rehearsals, though, Avon won't have theirs, so they'll be at a disadvantage compared to previous years.

    I know it's early, but hey, the schedules are out, might as well start making predictions! My top 10 would probably be: 1. Leander 2. Ronald Reagan 3. Vandegrift 4. The Woodlands 5. Hendrickson 6. The Woodlands College Park 7. Winston Churchill 8. Cy-Fair 9. Round Rock 10. Any number of groups, but most likely (from what I can see) Pearland or JET Of course, almost anything can happen, especially with the quantity of talent in this competition.

    Just curious, what do schools do to "audition" their students for what parts and such?

    Honestly, the fact that Texas bands even get done what they do in the eight hour rule is impressive. It'd almost be unfair for anyone else at GNats and intrastate competition if it was eliminated.

    Nothing can come soon enough. Except the end of the season of course, which comes way too soon.

    Does anyone know when the contestants for each event officially get released?

    This is going to be an amazing year of competitions.

    I believe Cy-Fair also does theirs in May.

    Anyone know the theme for their school's show for 2017 yet? If so, care to give us any hints ? In all honesty it's probably too early, but it can't hurt to ask now.

    Cy-Fair's 2016 show was really cool in concept, I just really hope 2017 is the same way.
