  1. This thread has now surpassed 200,000 views.
  2. LT was solid. Looked a fair bit cleaner than when I watched in person at STL.
  3. Off topic-ish, we have once again surpassed the record for most replies to a competition topic. (Will we be able to make it the most replied on the site? The Word Game says probably not)
  4. Has new San Antonio Alamodome logos on the 25s as well.
  5. For those that haven't seen JBA before, check last year's show too. Just as much emotion and message built into it.
  6. Holy. That JBA show is a beast. Nearly 10 minutes long? I didn't notice if they started late.
  7. The thing I'll never understand about the CFISD contests (both this and Battle at the Berry) is the fact that GE is a judged caption, but there's no award for it.
  8. Wonderful attending finals in person. Tried to weasel in a stop at Six Flags to activate my Season Pass and it bit me in the rear, ended up missing SFA and Jenks. The remaining 12, great stuff! Lake Travis was good, though I wish they managed to clean more since Austin. Was happy to see Bentonville in finals; I rehearsed at their stadium my junior year on the way to this very competition. Carroll was fantastic, proved that they were not a bubble band that needed to worry about whether they should make it. Camdenton, their first time in finals was the year my group came up and missed, they're on the up-and-up; loved the open/close of this show, mystifyingly unnerving. Rosemount unfortunately didn't wow me, and the gap between them and Blue Springs seems to show it. Broken Arrow. Yee-haw! (Chuck's announcement was great!) (also heard some of their sections warming up in the parking garage while I was walking around, which was neat) Union seemed rough around the edges, and I'm a bit surprised a bottom 7 group didn't jump them in finals; still a good showing. O'Fallon Township was much much much better in person than on stream for me. (fun side note here, you know how parents do the yell and spell of the school name? You know how we heard it for O'Fallon? That wasn't parents. That was the Franklin band cheering them on. Heartwarming!) Coppell! Some of the greatest sounds of the night! Also much better in person than on stream. Bell was wonderful. The prop usage is definitely a stray from the norm. Great run in finals earned them that medal! Blue Springs was fun, but it lacks... something. Not anything that keeps them near the top of this event though. Haltom!!!! I made a post saying I wanted to see this show in person, and HOLY COW does it deliver. Possibly my favorite show of the night! Camped outside the tunnel after retreat, chatted with members of a few groups, mainly the Texas ones and Bentonville. Keep sending Texas bands to this event please! I need your blessings while I'm up here for college!

  10. Wow! Haltom! I will be incredibly upset if I don't get to see this one in person tonight!
  11. CFISD as a whole is seeing some shifting of strong groups. I wouldn't believe these results were real if in 2016 you told me that's what they'd be this year.
  12. Area I definitely did happen though.
  13. Prediction Analysis says yes
  14. Tweeted at FloMarching bright and early this morning. Hopefully they can give us a replay of Churchill Fulshear by the first intermission or something. Would hate to be a parent that paid specifically to watch their own group perform and be presented with that.
  15. Good point, I probably should have considered that. Westlake is probably the next safest group after that.
  16. My "predictions" here pretty much consist of two tiers: In finals: Reagan The Woodlands Cy-Fair Seven Lakes Bubble: TWCP Dawson Langham Creek Westwood Westlake Westfield JET Oak Ridge Cypress Woods SFA Pearland Clear Brook Cypress Falls Richland Tompkins (I probably still missed 5+ groups that are capable of making finals) While Dallas will be more competitive at the top, Houston is going to be the greater overall bloodbath this weekend.
  17. Del Rio must've taken the judge's feedback from last week pretty well, great improvement in the course of one week!
  18. Vista Ridge is making a serious case for a medal here. Favorite show of the day thus far
  19. Awesome soloist-to-group sound in the ballad of Rouse's show!
  20. What a great selection of music from Pioneer. Multiple memorable tunes that work together really well!
  21. I know you're removing yourself to remove bias, but I hope you know that y'all are near the top from this season.
  22. I've liked how Hendrickson has unique inserts each season, and also a generic non-show insert for other purposes.
  23. This is a rumor that happens every year, and it's one that's false practically every time. Ease off a bit. There are some valid reasons for why we didn't make it.
  24. Yes, Cypress Falls is under different leadership. But are you within the program? I'd be careful with this knowledge, because there are factors that likely (read: almost definitely) affected the band far more than the leadership change that happened last season, especially considering that the head director of the marching band is not the one that changed.
  25. FWIW, High cam has noticeably less ads.
