Plastic reeds (at least for bassoon) are fun to play with, though. Like bending them as far as they can go backwards and forwards. 'Tis quite entertaining, because they're kinda hard to break.

Haha. I play bassoon. And make my own reeds. Or buy one of my teacher's if I'm desparate. And I really dislike the region etudes this year. :-) Yay for double reeds!!!

So, I don't know if this has been posted before, but whatever. Eh, usually, if a reed lasts a year, that's not really good. Unless you are switching reeds a lot. Then again, I'm talking about bassoon reeds, since that's what I play/make. Oh, and plastic reeds for bassoon sound horrible.

Mm, so I went to look at the BOA Handbook rule thing (has anyone else ever read it?) and I don't think we were really penalized that much. Like, enough to keep us from finals, if we're basing it all on penalities. Maybe that doesn't make sense... I guess I'm just venting about it... Sorry, guys.

Yay for posting stuff again. :-) Yeah, Bowie didn't make it. Or, us. Whatever. (I go to Bowie, obviously.) Um... yeah... I have no idea what happened there. There was a thought of penalities. Or maybe we just really weren't that good. I can't wait for finals results, though!

I play bassoon, and I'm in pit. There is one other pit-bassoonist. Two are in guard, and two play sousa. We have one oboe who plays cymbals. I don't know where martinhorn (sorry if I misspelled that; it was from the top of my head) got the sax part... *shrugs*

Hey, guys. Does anyone know how long it will take BOA to post full Prelims results? I know the "quick recap" thing is up (I just checked) but yeah, I wanted to see the scores and everything. And yes, Bowie didn't make it. Why do you think I want to check full results? Haha... Kinda. Anyways. Yeah.

Maybe because the person doesn't know how to follow and/or read directions. Are you trick-or-treating tonight?

There's this one person in my section (pit/Front Ensemble/whatever you call it). Said person thinks they are always perfect. (Let's call this person A, shall we?" So A thinks they can't be wrong. Never misses a note, never slows down, speeds up, always plays a perfect show. Always set up on time, never late to rehersal, and when A is, A makes up some lame excuse for it. A doesn't accept responsibility, but treats others in the section as if A is section leader, when A is most definitely not. A acts like a hypocrite. Stands around the trailer for ten mintues, then yells at the freshman for not loading. A argues back with everyone, including the directors. Frustrating, eh?
