  1. Really, REALLY early to do predictions, and extremely pointless, but hey, why not. (Ranges) 1. Broken Arrow (1-4) 2. Avon (1-4) 3. Carmel (1-4) 4. Tarpon Springs (2-4) 5. Wando (5-7) 6. Dobyns-Bennett (5-8) 7. William Mason (5-13) 8. Blue Springs (7-10) 9. Castle (6-9) 10. Homestead (9-Out) 11. Marian Catholic (8-12) 12. Vista Murrieta (12-Out) Music: No clue Visual: Broken Arrow General Effect: No clue Bands in no particular order that could sneak into finals O'Fallon Township North Hardin Lawrence Township Center Grove Centerville Kennesaw Mountain American Fork
  2. Not from Carmel, I know people from there. I agree SA has their obvious strengths and GN has their obvious strengths, from some perspectives one could be seen as more competitive. I would love to see a year where we got to see Carmel, Avon, and Broken Arrow go up against all the top texas bands. No hard feelings, just a good debate
  3. Considering the 6th place at San Antonio, (4th texas band), placed 4 spots lower than the GN winner this year, I wouldn't consider that toe to toe competition.
  4. One thing I notice people miss everytime this topic is discussed is the number of strong bands at San Antonio Vs. the Grand Nats number. At Grand Nationals, there are less bands that are super strong, but their are a couple bands that are consistently the best in the nation. I mean this as in that while there are less of the top tier bands at grand nationals, the bands that are on top at nationals are very, very strong. Looking at San Antonio, while it has many more bands that are of a higher tier, only about 1-3 of them are as strong as the top bands at grand nationals every year. Point being, the idea that because a band does not make finals at San Antonio but does at Grand Nationals can only be applied if you are comparing the bottom areas of finals.
  5. Updated Predictions 1. Carmel 2. Avon 3. Flower Mound 4. Broken Arrow 5. Marcus 6. The Woodlands 7. Castle 8. Round Rock 9. Blue Springs 10. Union 11. Homestead 12. O'Fallon Township Music: Avon Visual: Carmel General Effect: Carmel
  6. Updated Predictions 1. Broken Arrow 2. Avon 3. Carmel 4. Flower Mound 5. The Woodlands 6. Marcus 7. Castle 8. Round Rock 9. Blue Springs 10. Homestead 11. William Mason 12. Union Music: Avon Visual: Broken Arrow General Effect: Carmel
  7. 1. Avon 2. Flower Mound 3. Hebron 4. Claudia Taylor Johnson 5. The Woodlands 6. Vandegrift 7. Leander 8. Marcus 9. Round Rock 10. Cedar Ridge 11. Cedar Park 12. Ronald Reagan 13. LD Bell 14. Winston Churchill Music: Flower Mound Visual: Avon General Effect: Avon
  8. Scores are extremely inflated, you can not compare across competitions. Point gaps are the only thing that mean anything.
  9. Predictions as of now. 1. Broken Arrow 2. Carmel 3. Flower Mound 4. Avon 5. The Woodlands 6. Marcus 7. Castle 8. Round Rock 9. William Mason 10. Homestead 11. Union 12. Blue Springs Music: Flower Mound Visual: Broken Arrow General Effect: Carmel
  10. The carmel one is private, sent to me by a friend who attended one of their practices, I can not remember the name of the video for avon's show, but it might have been a default youtube title.
  11. Heard a recording of Carmel 2017. I also saw Avon's community night, found a recording on youtube.
  12. Ya I am going to change this 1. Carmel 2. Broken Arrow 3. Flower Mound 4. Avon 5. William Mason 6. The Woodlands 7. Marcus 8. Round Rock 9. Castle 10. Marian Catholic 11. Blue Springs 12. Homestead Music: Carmel Visual: Avon General Effect: Carmel
  13. The bands I believe could go undefeated are Avon, Carmel, Broken Arrow, Flower Mound. If I were to rank those on most likely to win all their competitions, it would be Broken Arrow first, Carmel second, Flower Mound third, and Avon fourth. I have Broken Arrow at first because they only competition they are probably going to lose is Grand Nationals, so that is less chance of loss. That reason is also why I have Carmel at second, because they don't have as many huge competitions compared to Flower Mound and Avon. Reason applies to Flower Mound and Avon. Example. For Carmel to sweep, they only have to win two invitationals (one of which Avon is hosting, so they won't compete), win dayton, win long beach, win Indy super, and win grand nationals. Avon would have to win one invitational, win one indiana circuit, win dayton, win canton, win SA, win indy, and Grand Nationals. Though if they were all doing the same competitions the entire year, I would say Avon would be most likely to go undefeated.
  14. Thinking about it more now, yes I agree with that. Bowie did really well last year for the situation they were going through. Hoping that push to excel stays with the band again this year and that they grow.
